BMW is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the first-generation (E30) M3 by collaborating with the Lego Group to create a new Lego Speed Champions kit. Sporting a unique livery that pays tribute to the car’s heritage while drawing inspiration from the BMW M Motorsport division, the launch of set #77263 will be accompanied by an authentic show car wearing the same livery. Made up of 358 pieces, the Lego version of the M3 measures 17 cm long, seven cm wide and four cm high when put together. The toy vehicle captures design features characteristic of the original M3 such as the brand’s signature kidney grille, rear spoiler and front end with its four round headlamps. BMW will also offer a scaled-up version of the T-shirt “worn” by the minifigure included in the set, and this will be sold at BMW dealers as well as the brand’s online merchandise store. The set itself will go on sale from August 1, 2026, with a public presentation set to be held on the date in Berlin where attendees able to get up close with the liveried M3 show car as well as the Lego set. Introduced as a homologation special so BMW could meet the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (DTM) and Group A Touring rules, the E30 M3 began production in 1986. The M3 would become a hallmark in BMW’s lineage, with the E30 being followed by the E36, E46, E90/E92/E93, F80 and to the current G80/G81. Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
