Audi plans to launch eight new models in China this year, including the Audi Q5L, A6L, A6L e-tron, and new products under the AUDI brand such as the E7X. Audi CEO Gernot Döllner said the company will continue its dual-partner strategy with FAW and SAIC, dismissing recent market speculation that SAIC Audi could be merged into FAW Audi, according to a Chinese media report. He emphasized that the current cooperation model with both partners is “highly beneficial” to Audi’s brand development and that there are no plans to adjust the structure at this stage. Döllner also revealed that Audi is in discussions with SAIC to further deepen cooperation, with progress already made, adding that updates will be announced at an appropriate time. Audi has established a relatively clear dual-track strategy in China. Its partnership with SAIC is currently focused on advancing the AUDI brand (letter-based logo). Audi E5 Sportback The brand’s first model, the E5 Sportback, was officially launched in September 2025, with the E7X set to debut this year and a third model planned for next year. Meanwhile, Audi’s collaboration with FAW Group centers on products bearing the traditional four-ring logo. The company is rolling out battery electric vehicles based on the PPE platform, while expanding its internal combustion lineup using the PPC platform. Audi Q6 L Amid mounting pressure from electrification, Audi delivered about 617,500 vehicles in China in 2025, down 5% year-on-year. During the same period, the group reported revenue of €65.5 billion ($75.3 billion), marking slight growth, while operating profit declined from €3.9 billion ($4.5 billion) to €3.4 billion ($3.9 billion), reflecting pressure on profitability. To respond to market changes, Audi restructured its China management team in February this year and plans to launch eight new models in 2026, including the Audi Q5L, A6L, A6L e-tron, and new products under the AUDI brand such as the E7X. At the same time, Audi is strengthening cooperation with local supply chains, including collaboration with Huawei in the field of intelligent technologies.
