While many automakers are backtracking on their EV plans, the rising cost of fuel amid various global crises justifies consumers looking at non-gas-reliant vehicles more and more. And in this vein, Lexus has revealed a luxury electric flagship for the three-row SUV segment. Rivaling hard-hitters like the Kia EV9 and Volvo's EX90, the new Lexus TZ arrives for 2027 with all the staples - and a few clever tricks up its sleeve that make it ever so appealing. Here's what we know so far.LexusMeet the first-ever three-row, all electric SUV from Lexus. Built on the brand's TNGA platform, it is designed to merge the luxury Lexus is known for with driving enjoyment, all with space for a larger family.Lexus The interior of the 2027 Lexus TZ will be classic Lexus style, with a focus on comfort and latest-generation tech. This includes available front passenger and second-row seats with ventilation and power ottomans, and an immersive Multimedia experience courtesy of the newest Lexus user interface.Lexus The brand says that sustainable craftsmanship is a focus of the new Lexus TZ interior, using materials and processes that are eco-friendly. Inside, the new TZ is also fully stocked with features, including the Lexus Safety System+ 4.0 and Convenience Feature Suite.Lexus The interior of the 2027 Z is based on the 'Driving Lounge Concept' that offers "elevated experiences and blends a quiet relaxing cabin with dynamic driving character." The cockpit is also laid out in such a way that forward visibility is expanded with a low instrument panel featuring polarizing film that reduces glare. Corner entry sightlines are improved thanks to special A-pillar design.LexusContinuing with the luxury theme, all three rows inside the new TZ benefit from a panoramic roof with power sunshade, that brings the elements from outside inward. That is further supported through the use of eco-conscious materials like bamboo fibers with resin, and plant-derived materials in the instrument panels, seat accents, and door shoulders.2027-lexus-tz-029The 2027 Lexus TZ's interior cargo space is noted at 13.8 cubic feet, with more data yet to be released by the automaker. We do know there is one-touch folding for the second and third rows, and the doors feature an easy-closer function for maximum convenience.Lexus As for the exterior of the Lexus TZ, the new SUV is unlike any Lexus we've seen thus far. Squared off corners feel modern without looking crass, and the reinforced body structure, which includes high-rigidity adhesives, laser screw welding, and aluminum components, aims to provide stable handling, torsional stiffness, and reduced weight. Wheel sizes range from 20 to 22 inches.Lexus Staying with the 2027 TZ exterior, the rear roofline is sloped in such a way that cabin space isn't disadvantaged, while the fenders are pronounced to enhance the on-road presence. There are signature L-shaped taillights as standard, too. Exterior colors for the new Lexus TZ include Shaded Ivy that we see here.Lexus The aerodynamic refinements on the 2027 Lexus TZ exterior include smooth airflow management around the body edges, flush door handles, mirrors, underbody fins, air dams, and even wheel designs that all work together for a drag coefficient of 0.27. This benefits range, stability, and wind noise.LexusThe TZ will have as much as 300 miles of range for its most efficient trim, although all the details are still pending. As for charging, the TZ comes with a first-for-the-brand 2-in-1 charging port (AC and DC side-by-side) with a motorized sliding cover. The SUV has advanced battery and charging functions like preconditioning and departure time preconditioning, and AC External Power supply. View Lexus TZ Images: 2027-lexus-tz-001
