Along with revised grille and wheel designs, the F-150 gets a new base engine, upgraded BlueCruise hands-free driving-assistance technology, and new lower-priced versions of the Tremor and Raptor off-roaders.2027 Ford F-150 LariatFordThe visual changes are so subtle that you'll probably only notice them if you work for Ford or own an F-150. The XLT trim moves to a simpler grille design with two thick bars across the front and adds a new 20-inch wheel for the Black Appearance package. The Lariat, meanwhile, goes in the opposite direction with a more intricate grille featuring four thin bars. The changes to the grilles on the King Ranch and Platinum are nearly imperceptible, and the Platinum has new 22-inch wheels.AdvertisementAdvertisementThe biggest update is under the hood, where the EcoBoost twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V-6 has been swapped out as the base engine and replaced by the EcoBoost twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6. Not only do the two engines share the same basic architecture, but the 3.0-liter has the exact same peak output, producing 325 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. The 3.0-liter's peak torque arrives at 2250 rpm, however, versus 3500 rpm in the 2.7-liter, which should make it feel peppier and help with towing.2027 Ford F-150 XLTFordFord also expanded availability of the 5.0-liter V-8, which can now be optioned on the luxurious King Ranch and Platinum models for the first time since 2023. That means the tried-and-true eight-cylinder is available across the entire F-150 lineup. Ford continues to offer the F-150 with the EcoBoost twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 and the PowerBoost hybrid that pairs the 3.5-liter with an electric motor. The BlueCruise hands-free driver-assistance system also gets more advanced for 2027, adding a new towing feature. On over 130,000 miles of divided highways, owners can now tow with their F-150 while the truck manages the steering, speed, and distance to the car in front. Using the system with a trailer requires filling out a unique trailer profile, and BlueCruise can adjust based on the weight of the load you're carrying.FordBlueCruise with Towing is limited to 75 mph, and that speed limit can be lowered further depending on the trailer-sway detection, load weight, and other conditions. BlueCruise with Towing also does not allow for hands-free lane changes and will make drivers retake control if it enters a construction zone. BlueCruise with Towing will be equipped on every 2027 F-150 with BlueCruise, and it doesn't increase the price of a BlueCruise subscription.AdvertisementAdvertisementFord is also making its off-road variants more affordable, with the new Tremor Low and Raptor Low trims. Essentially, Ford has stripped interior goodies out of each to cut thousands of dollars from the base prices. The Tremor Low features the steering wheel from the STX trim, manual air conditioning instead of the dual-zone climate control, and a six-speaker sound system instead of the eight-speaker Bang & Olufsen setup. Ford also removed the heated front seats, off-road running boards, and power sliding rear window.FordFor the Raptor, Ford ditched the head-up display, fog lamps, power passenger seat, power-adjustable steering column, and under-seat storage. The Low equipment group also cuts the Mobile Office package and switches from a 14-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system to an eight-speaker system. The 2-kW Pro Power Onboard outlet in the bed is also downgraded to only 400 watts. While Ford didn't provide prices for these new variants, we previously reported that the 2027 Raptor will start at $77,790, down by $4010, based on a dealership order guide. The Tremor should start at $62,440, a $5270 decrease.fordFord also introduces a new trim for 2027, called the F-150 Carhartt. Following the 2026 Carhartt-branded Super Duty, the F-150 takes a similar approach with Carhartt logos on the front fender trim and textured graphics with a gradient effect that wrap around the side sills and the bottom of the tailgate. There are also special 20-inch wheels, as well as the headlights and hood from the Tremor trim. Ford also includes a spray-in bedliner with the Carhartt logo stamped in.AdvertisementAdvertisementInside, the seats are wrapped in a two-tone cloth upholstery that mimics the look of Carhartt clothing and feels durable. There's also tan accent stitching throughout the cabin, and all-weather floor mats with the Carhartt logo. The Carhartt trim is available on the 4x4 XLT crew cab and costs an extra $4195.fordFord says the 2027 F-150 Carhartt can be ordered starting today, with deliveries beginning early next year. While no timing was provided for the rest of the lineup, we expect the 2027 F-150 to reach dealerships soon. The base XL trim will start at $42,630, while the Platinum will start at $71,595.➡️ Skip the lot.
