Here's the New 2027 Chevrolet Silverado PickupChevroletChevrolet Silverado 1500 is all-new for 2027, with four engine choices.Interiors are new, too, with new screens and apps.More detailed specs, including pricing, will be available closer to the new trucks' launch later this year.Chevrolet has pulled the wraps off its all-new Silverado 1500 pickup line and revealed a new look inside and out, revised trim levels, and some new and some improved engines. But it has not released any horsepower, torque, or pricing information yet. Those will come out closer to the trucks' arrival in showrooms at the end of this year.Chevy is calling this the most powerful and advanced Silverado ever. It had better be, since the full-size pickup segment is not only the biggest in the US, it's where car and truck makers earn most of their profits.AdvertisementAdvertisementThe Ford F-Series still leads that segment with 828,832 sales last year, but Chevy is second with 569,093 (add that together with the identical GMC Sierra's 348,222 sales, and GM is beating Ford by 88,486, but that's an argument for another day). Ram trucks finished 2025 with 374,059, followed by Toyota Tundra at 147,610.So it's a huge part of the auto industry, and remaking a brand's biggest seller is a big deal. Thus, Chevy went big. The truck maker said it will continue to offer four powertrain options, including two next-generation V8s—a 5.7-liter and a 6.6-liter—and an enhanced version of the 2.7-liter TurboMax four-cylinder, now paired with a 10-speed transmission. The lineup also offers the proven segment-exclusive Duramax 3.0-liter Turbo-Diesel.Work Truck trim.' expand='ChevroletWithout offering any specifics, Chevrolet says the 2027 Silverado 1500 will offer "the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 engine in its class." In what could be a swipe at Ford's reliance on turbocharged V6s (though Ford does offer V8s), Chevy says its V8s "underscore Chevrolet's commitment to offering V8 power for truck customers and build on more than 70 years of V8 know-how and validation that customers can rely on for demanding jobs and everyday life." Looking forward to hearing more.AdvertisementAdvertisementTrim levels were also tweaked, with a seven-trim lineup offering what Chevy promises will be "a broad range of value, capabilities, and choices to better meet customer needs and wants." Sounds like a plan. Those will include three lifted trims: what Chevy says is its most off-road capable ZR2 ever, Trail Boss, and Custom Trail Boss. That's in addition to the affordable Work Truck, Custom, Silverado (formerly LT), and High Country.ChevroletExteriors get a new front fascia with new LED headlights and taillights, more pronounced wheel opening moldings and rocker treatments, and standard dual exhaust on Custom trim and above for a more refined appearance.Inside is what Chevy calls a "modern digital cockpit," anchored by a fairly large 16.3-inch center display and a 12.2-inch driver information center that are standard across the lineup. ZR2 and High Country trims get an 11.5-inch front passenger screen standard, paired with a heads-up display and a rear camera mirror.ZR2ChevroletIf the Chevy lineup has an off-road competitor to the Ford Raptor, Ram XRT, and Toyota Tundra TRD PRO, it is the ZR2. We drove the current model ZR2 out in the desert and were impressed with it then. Silverado 4WD will now come standard with the Z71 package. And of course there will also be a 2027 Silverado 1500 Work Truck trim, configured to accommodate common upfits for construction, utilities, municipal, and commercial fleets. Work truck has "straightforward interiors" designed to be easy to clean and simple for drivers to learn, even across large, diverse fleets.AdvertisementAdvertisementChevrolet says its trucks are the longest-lasting full-size pickup trucks on the road, citing data from 39 model years of S&P Global and US New Vehicle Registrations data for all manufacturers with full-size pickup trucks in production during 1987-2025. Looking forward to putting some miles on these closer to launch.
