2027 Chevrolet Cars Lineup ChangesAmir Saidi - MotorTrendSince paring back its lineup of cars, Chevrolet has leaned on the iconic Corvette to satisfy the tastes of buyers who don't want a pickup or an SUV—but that's beginning to change as familiar nameplates are reintroduced to the 2027 Chevrolet cars lineup. We've compiled all the notable new models, updates, and changes to Chevy's range of cars for the new model year below, so read on to get the latest.1) 2027 Chevrolet BoltPhoto credit: Amir Saidi - MotorTrendOne of our favorite affordable EVs is back, if only for a fleeting moment. The 2027 Chevrolet Bolt resurrects a nameplate that won our 2017 Car of the Year award for a victory lap.The Bolt is powered by a 65-kWh battery and rides on General Motors' BEVII vehicle platform. As before, a single electric motor drives the front wheels, but this time around the Bolt develops 210 hp and 169 lb-ft of torque, not the 200 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque of its last iteration. We've already tested the 2027 Bolt at the track, and the loss in torque didn't affect the electric Chevy's acceleration; it launched from 0 to 60 mph in 6.7 seconds just as before.AdvertisementAdvertisementDespite the Bolt's diminutive size, it returns decent range. The EPA rates the 2027 Chevrolet Bolt at 262 miles of range, and MotorTrend testing found that the electric hatchback can travel 217 miles on a road trip while sustaining 70 mph. When it's time to charge, the Bolt can recover electricity at a rate up to 150 kW. That isn't fast compared to other mainstream electric SUVs like the Tesla Model Y and Hyundai Ioniq 5, but its small battery only needs 25 minutes to charge from 10 to 80 percent. The second-generation Bolt also benefits from a standard Tesla-style NACS charging port, allowing it to interface natively with Supercharger stations. Level 2 home charging at 19 kW adds 50 miles of range per hour. The 2027 Bolt also has bidirectional charging capability, so it can supply power to a house or appliances with its battery.Chevy equips the new Bolt with large screens inside the cabin, including an 11.0-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.3-inch infotainment touchscreen standard on both LT and RS models, though neither Apple CarPlay nor Android Auto is available. Thankfully, there's built-in Google support with Google Maps and downloadable apps from the Google Play store. Available Super Cruise hands-free highway driving assistance allows the EV to drive itself on roads mapped by GM.Crucially, the 2027 Chevrolet Bolt begins at $28,995 for the LT trim and $32,995 for the top-tier RS model. That scathing deal won't last long, though. The Chevrolet Bolt is already planned to be discontinued toward the end of 2027 as Chevy's Fairfax, Kansas, plant shifts production back to vehicles with internal combustion engines. If you like what the 2027 Bolt has to offer, act quickly.AdvertisementAdvertisementRead Our Experts' Full Chevrolet Bolt EV Review2) 2027 Chevrolet CorvettePhoto credit: Amir Saidi - MotorTrendThe eighth-generation Corvette, or C8 as it's known among enthusiasts, gets some big changes for the 2027 model year. This mid-engine sports car's lineup already offered impressive breadth, but Chevrolet continues to add new permutations of the 'Vette. This year, the much-beloved Grand Sport model returns with both gas-only and hybrid all-wheel-drive variants. These Grand Sport versions of the Corvette receive a new LS6 V-8 engine with 6.7 liters of displacement, shared with the base Stingray, making 535 hp and 520 lb-ft of torque. That's up from a maximum of 495 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque from the prior model year. The Grand Sport X, which replaces the E-Ray hybrid, produces a total of 721 hp from its hybrid AWD system. Gas-only Grand Sport models should be good for a 0–60-mph time of 3.0 seconds, and the Grand Sport X should be able to launch in just 2.7 seconds. Both versions of the Corvette Grand Sport are equipped with standard magnetic ride control suspension, an electronically controlled limited-slip differential, and a 5.56:1 final drive ratio for the Tremec eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. As before, you can get the 2027 Chevy Corvette Grand Sport in Admiral Blue paint. Launch Edition models get limited-run styling inside the cabin with bright blue-dipped leather, red stitching, and red accents.AdvertisementAdvertisementThree versions of the rear-wheel-drive Grand Sport are available. A touring setup is the default and intended to be the softest with Michelin Pilot Sport All Season tires. Equipping the Sport Performance package adds stiffer suspension, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S summer tires, and the Z06's J56 brakes. At the top of the range there's the Track Performance package, equipping Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires, carbon-ceramic brakes, a carbon-fiber wing and dive planes, a package-specific chassis tune, and a center-exit exhaust. Its forged wheels come in a choice of four different finishes. Carbon-fiber wheels can be specified on models with the available carbon-ceramic brakes. The Grand Sport X comes standard with carbon-ceramic brakes to accompany its heightened output, Qualifying, Endurance, and Push-to-Pass features, along with all-electric Stealth and Shuttle modes. The 2027 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport coupe starts at $88,485 and $95,495 for the convertible. Pricing for the Grand Sport X has yet to be announced, but figure it will begin closer to the $100,000 mark for the coupe; convertible models are expected to begin around $115,000.AdvertisementAdvertisementOther changes to the 2027 Chevrolet Corvette lineup include Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 tires for the Stingray's Z51 Performance package. Z51 models also get a new final gearing for better acceleration, now 5.56:1 versus the outgoing car's 5.17:1. There's a new rear wing redesigned for better high-speed stability, and the Corvette Stingray Z51's chassis has been retuned to accommodate the extra power and grip.MotorTrend Ranked: No. 1 in premium performance coupes (2026 model)Read Our Experts' Full Chevrolet Corvette Review3) 2028 Chevrolet CamaroPhoto credit: Andrei Avarvarii - MotorTrendWe've never thought it's made sense to kill off the Chevrolet Camaro, a nameplate that has nearly as much brand equity as Chevrolet itself. We initially expected the Camaro would return as an electric SUV challenging the Ford Mustang Mach-E, but now it appears the automaker will resurrect its two-door front-engine sports car as, well, a two-door front-engine sports car.AdvertisementAdvertisementThe pony/muscle car segment is incomplete without all three of its big names duking it out, which is to say the Ford Mustang and Dodge Charger could use another rival. Expect the 2028 Chevrolet Camaro to arrive on an updated version of GM's Alpha rear-drive platform, updated to what is expected to be known as Alpha 2-2. Alpha platform cars are known for their excellent handling and composure, so expect more of the same from the new Camaro. As for what will be under the hood, we suspect GM's widely used LSY 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 will be back, with output turned up to meet or beat the four-cylinder Ford Mustang's 315 hp. The Camaro lineup wouldn't be complete without V-8 engines, and as such we predict the Chevrolet Silverado's new 5.7- and 6.6-liter engines will make an appearance for SS and Z/28 models. The SS should make nearly 500 hp, and the Z/28 should produce even more power than that. Prognosticating further down the line, we predict a ZL1 model will eventually arrive with a supercharged V-8 making somewhere between 650 and 700 hp. A 10-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive should be standard across the lineup. As for pricing, Chevrolet will be looking to get a slice of the Mustang and Charger's pie with a starting price around $35,000 for the four-cylinder Camaro. The 2027 Camaro SS should begin under $50,000, and the Z/28 should start around $55,000. We expect the 2028 Chevrolet Camaro to go on sale in fall of 2027.AdvertisementAdvertisementRead Our Experts' Full Chevrolet Camaro Review4) 2027 Chevrolet Cars LineupPhoto credit: Amir Saidi - MotorTrend2027 Chevrolet Bolt EV: Redesigned2027 Chevrolet Corvette: Major update2028 Chevrolet Camaro: Future model
