This used EarthRoamer carries a $1.1 million asking price. The luxury overlander has traveled just 8,228 miles. Its equipment list rivals many high-end motorhomes. Most used pickups lose value the moment they leave the dealership. This one is listed for $1.1 million. To put that into perspective, you could buy a fleet of brand-new heavy-duty trucks, a supercar, and still have money left over. Yet for buyers shopping at the very top of the overlanding world, this EarthRoamer XV-SX might actually seem like a reasonable proposition. While supercar builders focus on speed and performance at all costs, this type of truck takes that ethos and applies it to going off-road. EarthRoamers have long occupied a unique corner of the market where luxury motorhomes, expedition vehicles, and heavy-duty pickups all overlap. Built on a Chevrolet Silverado 6500HD platform, the XV-SX is designed to venture far beyond paved roads while providing many of the comforts found in a high-end home. This particular example features Woodland Timber Oak cabinetry and the company’s Mount Princeton floor plan. Why a company building a million-dollar truck bothers to advertise a low-cost coffee maker that half the country already owns, we may never know. A separate sleeping area sits up top, reached by a small ladder, and there’s even a fully-equipped bathroom with a toilet and a standup shower. Of course, luxury is only part of the equation. EarthRoamer buyers are typically interested in self-sufficiency and remote travel. To that end, this XV-SX comes equipped with front and rear Warn winches, a rear bumper-mounted storage system, a slide-out storage rack in the garage area, and an exterior propane grill. Look, there’s no question that this rig offers a lot of capability. But there’s also no avoiding the fact that the normalization of pricing like this is becoming far more common than it ever has been. Stack on top of that the fact that we’re not even talking about a new truck, but rather one that has over 8,000 miles of wear and tear on it. Whether anyone actually pays that much is up for debate. If they do, they’ll have a truly remarkable machine. And they’ll be trading the ability to stack up a small fleet for it. That’s a wild thing to give up. But the overlanding crowd quit blinking at math like this a while back, and if you’re one of them, the full listing is right here. Image Credits: Earthroamer
