Honda TrailSport Owners Get Real-Time App DataHondaA free Honda Trail Experience (HTX) app is now available for owners of 2026 TrailSport-equipped Honda crossovers. The app displays relevent off-road data on the SUV's central screen. It's free!Five years ago, Honda got more serious about the off-road capability of its crossover SUVs when it launched the TrailSport trim level. Starting with the Passport, vehicles with the TrailSport moniker would eventually get rugged A/T tires, an inch more ride height, and beefy skid plates, among other functional touches. Now Honda is offering a free app for owners of 2026 TrailSports that can be downloaded to an iPhone (Android users will get it at a later date). The app displays 11 different items of real time data, including:AdvertisementAdvertisementHonda (Honda)ElevationPitchRollBrake pressureThrottle positionSpeedEngine temperatureOutside temperatureTire angleAnd latitude and longitudeYou can customize the vehicle's screen to show as many as six of those apps at a time."Honda is bringing high tech to the trail with today's official launch of Honda Trail Experience (HTX), an innovative new off-road app created exclusively for Honda TrailSport owners looking to enhance off-roading adventures in the 2026 Passport TrailSport, 2026 Pilot TrailSport and 2026 CR-V TrailSport," Honda said. The app was developed by Honda engineers in collaboration with input from more than 1,500 owners of the 2026 Passport TrailSport, Honda said. The HTX application provides not only real-time vehicle data but also advanced video capabilities. That's right, it's made with YouTubers and TikTokers in mind, those selfie-taking self-promoters who help sell more Passports than traditional media. So it's a smart marketing move, too.AdvertisementAdvertisementThe app allows users to easily export videos with data overlays."This makes it effortless to create and share videos synced with trail data, including map and performance overlays that will wow their friends, family and social media followers," Honda said. "HTX offers video capture with audio using the iPhone camera and microphone, making it easier than ever for Honda TrailSport SUV owners to document and share their off-road experiences."If that happens to sell some Hondas, so much the better.Video capture is controlled from the vehicle touchscreen enabling TrailSport owners the flexibility and creativity to mount their device anywhere on the SUV. This includes on the inside or outside of the vehicle or even held by a spectator filming from anywhere within range for more dynamic footage. The app also supports still photo capture for documenting key moments.AdvertisementAdvertisement"Engineered and designed by members of the 2026 Honda Passport development team at the Honda North American Automotive Development Center (ADC), HTX helps the driver better navigate the terrain and provide a complete record of the adventure," Honda said.HondaA lot of work went into making sure the app fit users' needs. It was developed by Honda engineers in collaboration with input from more than 1,500 owners of the 2026 Passport TrailSport. In January 2026, the HTX development team even hosted beginner, novice and expert off-roaders at The Overland Company in Troy, North Carolina, for a day of real-world usability validation of the app out on the trail."Feedback from the diverse group, which included owners of Honda Passport TrailSports and other popular 4X4s, will influence near-term user experience updates and enhancements to HTX," Honda said. "A 'Share Feedback' feature also gives HTX users the ability to provide their comments directly to the Honda development team."If you have one of the TrailSports mentioned above, go to the App Store and download the app now. And send us a video, will ya?
