This bizarre Town Car was recently imported to the US from Japan. The Lincoln is a Miyagata hearse adorned with glimmering gold parts. Power comes from Lincoln’s familiar 4.6-liter naturally aspirated V8. The Lincoln Town Car is an American icon, built for 31 years across three generations and long serving as a benchmark for luxury sedans in the country. You may have grown up seeing a Town Car on almost every street corner, but chances are you’ve never seen one like this before. This special Lincoln Town Car is heading to auction in November and has spent most of its life in Japan, serving as a hearse. It’s no regular hearse, but a Miyagata hearse that was imported into the US in late 2024 and adorned with intricate decorations that help transfer people into the afterlife in style. The gold trimmings and intricate patterns and shapes continue along the sides, even covering the two doors which open up where a coffin slides in. A handful of similar hearses have popped up for sale in the US here and there over the past few years, and each one has been absolutely wild. A look at the odometer reveals this one has been used relatively sparingly, too, with the odometer reading just 19,717 miles, which is very little given its age. It’s hardly a surprise then that the interior looks pristine, with the original black front seats retained and showing few signs of significant wear, aside from some cracks and creases. The cabin has plenty of wood accents, including on the dashboard and the door panels. Under the hood, there is a 4.6-liter naturally aspirated V8 with 190 hp and 265 lb-ft (359 Nm). It’s paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. It’s anyone’s guess what the next owner of this Lincoln will do with the car and if it’ll actually be used as a hearse, stored in a collection, or perhaps even just driven around town. If we owned it, we’d probably only drive it to and from local cars and coffee events where it’d turn just as many heads as any flamboyant Italian supercar.
