According to Voyah on social media, the video was shot entirely with a real vehicle, the stunt was performed by a standard market production version without any special effects modifications, making it the first production vehicle in the world to achieve this extreme manoeuvre. The challenge serves as a tribute to the iconic tunnel advertisement filmed 16 years ago featuring racing legend Michael Schumacher and the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. While that historic ad remains controversial due to claims that a professional stunt driver, rather than Schumacher, performed the feat, Voyah’s achievement is presented as a raw demonstration of production hardware. Performing a closed-loop rotation with a mid-to-large FUV (Functional Utility Vehicle) presents significantly greater objective difficulty than a lightweight supercar like the SLS AMG, given the Passion S’s larger dimensions and higher curb weight. Furthermore, the vehicle retained its full battery pack and complete suite of intelligent driving hardware, with no weight-reduction modifications. Voyah Passion S’s stunt video. The vehicle had to accelerate to a critical speed of approximately 130 km/h and enter the curved tunnel wall at a precise steering angle of 16°. By utilising centrifugal force to counteract gravity, the car completed a full 360-degree rotation. Maintaining speed was critical; a drop of just 3- 5 km below the threshold would have caused the vehicle to lose traction and fall from the tunnel ceiling. Screenshot from the video. Powering the manoeuvre is a dual-motor four-wheel-drive system capable of delivering a combined power output of 475 kW (637 hp) and a peak torque of 765 N · m, allowing for rapid, zero-delay acceleration to the required entry speed. Additionally, the global 800V high-voltage silicon carbide platform achieves a comprehensive electric drive efficiency of 93.8%. Combined with an active grille for intelligent temperature control, the system ensured zero power attenuation during the entry, climb, and inverted phases of the loop. The Voyah Passion S entered pre-sales last month, with the top-spec model priced at 309,900 yuan (45,600 USD). It is scheduled for official launch on August 15, when the final retail pricing will be announced. Michael Schumacher’s commercial for Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. Editor’s comment While such a stunt is theoretically possible in terms of physics, many people on the internet don’t believe the SLS AMG video is real. From an advertising perspective, however, it’s a very successful advert. Voyah Passion S. Most important news in your inbox. Recaps · scheduled All you need, in one email.
