The team over at WD Detailing were working alongside a man called Frank, who had owned the truck for 40 years. But when life got busy, the truck got stowed away and newer trucks took its place. Now it was time for a return to the road – but first WD Detailing would need to work their magic on it. What state was this Ford F-250 Ranger XLT in when it came out of the container? But this time around, they’d be cleaning up a Ford F-250 Ranger XLT that had been in storage for 20 years. WD Detailing “Family, kids, everything comes up and life takes you—you just kind of lose sight of this stuff,” Frank told the WD Detailing. As you might expect, 20 years of stagnation had done a number on this truck – a thick layer of dust and dirt, with flat tires to boot. Construction equipment was needed to extract this sleeping giant from its container, and it barely squeezed onto the transport trailer that would take it to WD Detailing’s workshop. It was there that the real work began. WD Detailing A pressure washer was deployed to banish 20 years of grime, with a citrus degreaser cleaning up leaking grease. The interior wasn’t neglected either – it got a total makeover, with the rubber floor being treated to a deep clean. They also added in some modifications like a 1980s Mustang radio and a pop-open sunroof. Taking a look inside the engine bay, they encountered a massive mouse nest. WD Detailing Believe it or not, this isn’t the first time this team have come across mice in their line of work – just take a look at what this Honda Acura NSX had in store for them. And it wasn’t just aesthetically that the car underwent a transformation. They tended to the engine, which fortunately cranked up nicely with a battery attached to it. Fresh gas was added, the brakes were bled, and the truck got to go on its first test drive in two decades. Now it was time for Frank to see the truck again. Could WD Detailing restore it to its former glory? When Frank laid eyes on the truck, he was left absolutely speechless. He was even of the opinion that it looked just like it did 30 years ago. WD Detailing And better still, driving it took him back to the good old days. “Thank you very much, you guys. Awesome job,” he said. “[It’s] taking me back to my school days for sure… I’ve never had it looking this good. I’m not kidding you. This thing looks like it looked 30 years ago.”
