The vehicle celebrates the "innovation, engineering, determination and pioneering spirit that have driven America for nearly two-and-a-half centuries," event organizers said.AdvertisementAdvertisementEarlier this year, the VA250 made motorsports history by establishing a new land speed record for stock cars at the NASA Space Shuttle Landing Area at Kennedy Space Center in Florida, reaching a speed of 253 miles per hour.The VA250 Project's ultimate goal is to break that record next year, setting its sights on a speed of 270mph.Visitors to the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals will have a chance to get an up-close look at the VA250 car, meet Arrington, learn how his team established the 253mph record and take photos with the unique vehicle.Arrington has spent a lifetime turning mechanical precision into competitive advantage. His engines powered championship seasons in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2004 and 2005 and earned recognition across NASCAR, ARCA, Trans-Am, NHRA and SCCA competition.
