If the internet's good for anything, it's living vicariously through others who are tinkering on the rides of your dreams. Every so often, though, you'll find one that can only make you green with envy. This time, it's truck nuts who will overflow with jealousy. The folks over at Rocket Restorations just got their hands on a 1977 Dodge Warlock that can only be described as the perfect project truck. It's complete, it's gorgeous, and it's even running. 1977 Warlock Project Rocket Restorations, YouTubeThe Warlock was an extremely cool appearance package put out by Dodge for its trucks in the mid-70s. As part of the infamous Adult Toys campaign, it had all the elements of legendary Mopar marketingto spruce up an already badass rig. This particular truck is optioned to be a fraternal twin to the Lil' Red Express, making it a rig every classic truck owner wishes was in their collection. While it may not be the ultra-hot Corvette killer, this truck does have a 360 LA engine under its hood. Behind it is a bulletproof 727 3-speed automatic. It is two-wheel drive as well, making it a bona fide muscle truck. Minus the stacks and livery, it's about as close to the mighty red wagon as one could get. via MotoriousThe truck arrived at the shop in running condition, and Tom, the host, was able to drive it around the yard. However, it does need its share of work. The carburetor needs a rebuild, and the transmission is leaking. Still, it did move under its own power, meaning it doesn't need too much effort to hit the road. As for the body and interior, the Warlock is complete. It does need a lot of help in this department, but isn't the worst you'll see. The interior is busted, and pretty much everything that can have a problem does. Still, it's all there and all fixable. The exterior has just the perfect level of patina. The paint is worn away, but there's no rust or rot. The brown and black color combination is absolutely mesmerizing, and the pin stripping holding its ground makes for an iconic look that we absolutely love. Patina Perfection Rocket Restorations, YouTubeRocket Restorations is going to fix this truck up. Tom talks about some of his plans, which include getting it running right and fixing up the interior. He also talked about putting new wood in the stepside bed.How far would you take this restoration? We'd stop with a solid running engine and a clean interior. The patina thing might be a bit played out in some circles, but this truck is the perfect candidate appearance-wise. Why wreck nature's work? Regardless, we're stoked to see what comes of this project.
