2027 Ford Bronco Filson First Look: Luxury RigFord (Ford)Ford is pushing its iconic off-roader upscale with the 2027 Bronco Filson, a new trim level that teams the SUV’s trail-ready hardware with higher-end materials, a quieter cabin, and a heavy dose of outdoor-inspired design.Ford has been teasing its collaboration with the Seattle-based outfitter for about a month, and the partnership makes plenty of sense on paper. Both brands have built loyal followings around adventure, durability, and life beyond the pavement. We attended the Bronco Filson’s reveal in Washington state, where Ford also arranged a tour of Filson’s factory, offering a closer look at the materials, craftsmanship, and design cues that influenced the special edition.Ford (Ford)Tough and FancyThe Bronco Filson is based on the Bronco’s Sasquatch package, so it arrives with serious off-road credentials. Standard equipment includes 35-inch tires, Fox position-sensitive internal-bypass shocks, and locking front and rear differentials, giving it the hardware needed to tackle challenging terrain far from civilization.AdvertisementAdvertisementPower comes from Ford’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter EcoBoost V-6, which is currently only available in the Bronco Raptor. But Ford engineers have tuned this V-6 for a more comfortable and less Raptor-y drive. We were told to expect smoother power delivery and a more refined, less aggressive sound profile. Power and torque numbers were not shared, as Ford will release those closer to the Bronco Filson’s debut next year. The biggest changes may be found inside. Ford says the Bronco Filson’s cabin is about 20 percent quieter thanks to acoustic glass, improved sealing, and revisions aimed at reducing wind noise. The result should be a more comfortable place to spend long hours behind the wheel.Ford (Ford)Beyond the comfort and off-road equipment already included with the Sasquatch package, the Bronco Filson introduces several features to the Bronco lineup. Among them are ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and an upgraded B&O premium audio system, all aimed at making the SUV more luxurious.Filson’s influence is most apparent in the Bronco’s finishes and storage solutions. The special edition features removable storage bags integrated throughout the cabin, including door-mounted saddle bags and available cargo-area organizers made from water- and dirt-resistant materials, taking inspiration from the materials Filson uses in its bags and some apparel. The bags include configurable compartments for everything from fishing gear and first-aid supplies to camera equipment and can be removed from the vehicle and carried directly to camp.AdvertisementAdvertisementWhile the materials used in the Bronco Filson aren’t the exact same ones used in Filson’s apparel, there are some similarities. The seat patterns resemble those found in the inside of some Filson jackets, and the color combinations and textures found in the Bronco’s cabin are close to the ones the 140 year-old clothing brand uses.Photo credit: FordPhoto credit: FordPhoto credit: FordPhoto credit: FordAdvertisementAdvertisementPhoto credit: FordPhoto credit: FordPhoto credit: fordPhoto credit: FordAdvertisementAdvertisementPhoto credit: FordPhoto credit: FordPhoto credit: FordPhoto credit: fordAdvertisementAdvertisementPhoto credit: fordPhoto credit: fordPhoto credit: fordPhoto credit: fordAdvertisementAdvertisementPhoto credit: fordPhoto credit: fordPhoto credit: FordPhoto credit: FordAdvertisementAdvertisementPhoto credit: FordPhoto credit: FordPhoto credit: FordPhoto credit: FordAdvertisementAdvertisementPhoto credit: FordPhoto credit: fordPhoto credit: FordNot every upgrade is aimed at the trail. A new digital rearview mirror and an integrated camera washer helps solve visibility issues that come with a cargo area stuffed to the ceiling, while power-deployable running boards keep your denim from getting muddy and make it easier to get in or out of the lifted Bronco. From the outside, the Bronco Filson doesn’t stray too far from the familiar, but a few details help distinguish it from other Broncos. A unique grille with small perforated holes, painted fender flares and mirror caps, and its own trail sights on the corners of the hood. The signature color is Field Green Metallic, although buyers will also be able to choose from Marsh Gray, Avalanche Gray, Desert Sand, Shadow Black, and Oxford White, all of them previously available on the Bronco.Ford will celebrate the launch with a limited First Edition model for North America. Buyers who opt for the First Edition will get a few extras, including exclusive Iron Sands Copper Metallic paint, a unique fender badge, a serialized console plaque commemorating the Ford-Filson collaboration, and additional Filson-inspired cargo storage bags. Filson fans will also be able to buy merch from the Filson by Bronco collection, which debuts tomorrow.Orders open this fall, with the start of production at Ford’s Michigan Assembly Plant and showroom arrivals expected to occur in early 2027. Prices have yet to be announced, but expect the Filson to start around $75,000.
