Tesla just had its 4th best quarter ever for vehicle sales. Stepping away from quarterly trends and quarterly numbers, though, I also routinely publish cumulative Tesla sales charts and facts. Looking at the numbers just now, I noticed that Tesla is on the verge of reaching 10 million cumulative vehicle sales. At the end of the second quarter, Tesla got to 9,721,070 cumulative vehicle sales. That means it needs just 278,930 sales to reach the big 10 million vehicle milestone. Considering the company had 480,126 vehicle deliveries in Q2, we can confidently assume it will reach 10 million cumulative vehicle sales in Q3. Naturally, Tesla’s sales are driven by two models — the Model Y and Model 3. So, in addition to that overall chart on cumulative vehicle deliveries, here are similar charts for the Model Y and Model 3: According to these estimates, the Tesla Model 3 has reached 3,502,363 cumulative vehicle sales, while the Tesla Model Y has reached 5,385,508 cumulative vehicle sales. The Model Y is, of course, the highest selling electric vehicle of all time. Here are alternative versions of the embedded charts above:
