Maruti Suzuki has introduced a facelifted Brezza in India. A more potent turbo 1.0-liter engine joins the lineup. The subcompact SUV is priced from ₹739,900 ($7,700). While Suzuki is best known for the Jimny and Vitara, its lineup runs a good deal deeper. Among the lesser-known entries is the subcompact Brezza SUV, developed and built in India. Four years after the second generation arrived, the model gets a mid-cycle refresh with mild styling changes, better safety kit, and turbocharged power under the hood. Turbo Engine And A Manual Gearbox The standout feature of the update is the addition of a new mild-hybrid turbo 1.0-liter Boosterjet engine. The New One Makes A Splitter The stronger unit joins the existing mild-hybrid naturally aspirated 1.5-liter Dual Jet, which is good for 102 hp (76 kW / 103 PS) and 137 Nm (101 lb-ft). That one pairs with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic. Rounding out the range, the bi-fuel S-CNG variant picks up a redesigned underbody CNG tank holding 55 lt (1.9 cubic feet), with a six-speed manual replacing the old five-speed. Limited Styling Tweaks Suzuki From the outside, the Brezza is instantly familiar. Look closer, though, and you’ll spot a redesigned bumper with new side intakes and a heavier helping of aluminum-look trim. A cleaner grille sits between the carry-over headlights. The 3,995 mm (157.3 inches) SUV also picks up subtle metal accents along its flanks and two new colors, Vivacious Orange and Lustrous Beige. The Turbo Package adds red exterior accents and special C-pillar badging, the Terrascape Package adds brown and silver cladding, and the Metroscape Package adds subtle bumper garnish. Upgraded Tech, Safety, And Cabin Comfort Suzuki Inside, the cabin looks familiar but Suzuki added a Dark Brown and Black configuration with metal-like accents, gloss black trim, and leatherette upholstery. On the tech front, the standout feature is the 10.1-inch infotainment (up from 9 inches). High-spec trims come equipped with an Arkamys audio system, ventilated seats, a 64-color ambient lighting, an electric sunroof, an air purifier, and a cooled wireless charging pad. Pricing and Availability Like its predecessor, the updated Maruti Suzuki Brezza stays exclusive to India. The turbo manual is the surprise bargain of the range, opening at an introductory ₹739,900 ($7,700). At the top, the fully loaded naturally aspirated automatic runs to ₹1,370,000 ($14,200).
