Porsche's ready to start celebrating the Nürburgring's big birthday a little early. The legendary race circuit may not turn 100 until next summer, but the marque is already paying tribute to it with a limited-edition 911 GT3. The aptly named 100 Jahre Nürburgring variant is also available with the Manthey Performance kit that has helped make it one of the fastest sports cars in the track's history.More from Robb ReportAdvertisementAdvertisementRijksmuseum Just Received a Rare Book of 17th-Century DrawingsThis $28.5 Million Boho Malibu Mansion Has Ties to a Rock Icon and 'E.T.'Renaissance Masterpieces Were Stolen From a Sicilian Museum During a National HolidayMuch has changed at the Nürburgring since it first opened in June 1927, but one thing has remained the same: the Nordschleife's status as one of the world's most demanding courses. The complex's 12.94-mile north loop is sometimes referred to as the Green Hell—for a good reason, since it has 73 officially recognized corners (33 left and 40 right) and over 1,000 feet of elevation changes. These characteristics force drivers to push their vehicles to their limits, which is why the Nordschleife is the track automakers send their highest-performance models to prove their mettle—including, on dozens of occasions, Porsche. The Nürburgring's infamous northern loop, the NordschleifeThe GT3 100 Jahre Nürburgring is the handiwork of Porsche Deutschland and features several references to the complex it's named after. The body of the most extreme version of the automaker's iconic sports car is available finished in either White or GT Silver Metallic with the front and rear fascias, along with the wing caps, covered in a green protective film. The exterior also has a graphic package, which includes customizable racing numbers—similar to those found on cars testing at the Nürburgring—and rides on a set of staggered California Gold forged wheels (21 inches up front, 22 inches in the back). The same green found on the exterior can also be spotted inside the vehicle. The color, a reference to the circuit's nickname, can be found on the steering wheel, driver's seat insert, and roll cage. There are also plaques and graphics identifying the car as a special edition. The GT3's powertrain has been left untouched, but we can't imagine anyone will mind. The track-focused coupe comes with a 4.0-liter flat-six mated to either a seven-speed PDK or six-speed manual gearbox that makes 502 hp and 331 ft lbs of torque. The add-on Manthey Kit adds a specially tuned suspension, upgraded brake package, and a more aggressive aero kit that produces up to 1,190 pounds of downforce at 177 mph.Inside the Porsche 911 GT3 100 Jahre NürburgringPorsche hasn't said how much the 911 GT3 100 Jahre Nürburgring will cost, but it did reveal that it plans to build just 100 examples of the special edition. A price well in excess of the standard GT3's $235,800 starting price seems likely. Those lucky enough to score an example will also get access to a matching Porsche Design chronograph. The automaker will start taking orders next month, with delivery expected in time for the complex's anniversary.AdvertisementAdvertisementClick here for more photos of the Porsche 911 GT3 100 Jahre Nürburgring.Best of Robb ReportThe 2024 Chevy C8 Corvette: Everything We Know About the Powerful Mid-Engine BeastThe World's Best Superyacht ShipyardsThe ABCs of Chartering a YachtSign up for RobbReports's Newsletter.
