Rolls-Royce revealed a one-off Phantom as a tribute to a client’s wife. The luxury sedan marks the first-ever application of iridescent abalone shell marquetry. It is called Phantom Hummingbird and is based on the long-wheelbase variant. Rolls-Royce has unveiled yet another bespoke example of its flagship sedan, curated through its Private Office in Dubai. The Phantom Hummingbird is a one-off model commissioned by a client as a tribute to his wife. The highlight of the build is the first-ever application of abalone shell marquetry in a Rolls-Royce. The marine-derived material produces blue and green colors when it interacts with light, and was used to replicate the iridescent feathers of a hummingbird. According to the automaker, the latter was chosen as “a symbol of joy, resilience and the ability to find beauty in every moment”.
