mitsubishi eclipse sportback ev starts at 37 745Mitsubishi's new era of products is starting to take shape and the brand made another step forward today announcing pricing for the 2027 Eclipse Sportback. The company's first new battery electric vehicle in the segment starts at $37,745 and goes on sale in the U.S. this month. That MSRP excludes a destination charge of $1,995, rising to $2,120 in Hawaii and Alaska. The Mitsubishi Eclipse Sportback carries a single extra: a Technology Package that costs $2,600. Mitsubishi says the car is "exceptionally well equipped" even in standard form. According to the company, it delivers up to 282 miles of range from its 75-kWh lithium-ion battery on a full charge. Every model supports Level 1 and Level 2 charging through the SAE J1772 connector, and Level 3 DC fast-charging uses Tesla's NACS format. This is the first "all-new" vehicle to debut under Mitsubishi's Momentum 2030 business plan, the company's five-year roadmap for North America. The scare quotes are warranted, because while this model may be all-new for Mitsubishi it is essentially a rebadge Nissan LEAF. Pricing for the 2027 LEAF hasn't been announced but for comparison's sake, a 2026 model year version starts at $29,990 with the SV+ at $34,230 and the Platinum+ trim level at $38,990.Related VideoUnder that plan, Mitsubishi has pledged to launch a minimum of one new or fully updated model annually through fiscal 2030. The company says the product line will grow to roughly twice its current size of four vehicles.Mitsubishi framed the Eclipse Sportback as "a key proof point" of Momentum 2030, and noted its EV history dates to 1966. Next up is a rugged, off-road version of the Outlander SUV, which the company says arrives in early 2027. Mitsubishi said its North American strategy centers on "an expanded focus on adventure-oriented and off-road-capable vehicles, addressing a customer shift toward more rugged and versatile vehicles."The Eclipse Sportback joins the rest of the lineup under Mitsubishi Motors Confidence. That program bundles powertrain and battery coverage for 10 years or 100,000 miles, plus battery capacity coverage for eight years or 100,000 miles. It also adds a five-year/60,000-mile new vehicle limited warranty and a seven-year/100,000-mile anti-corrosion warranty, among other protections.
