To give folks a taste of what's on offer in Minnesota, the state is holding a No Registration weekend on June 13-14.Minnesotans with ATVs that are registered for private or agricultural use can use them on the state's public ATV trails on June 13-14 without needing to pay the additional registration fee ($60 for three years) that's usually required. But this offer isn't just for those based in Minnesota, as out-of-state riders can also explore the ATV trails without the need to pay for a nonresident ATV trail pass, which usually costs $31 per year.Those who avail themselves of the No Registration Weekend will have access to more than 3,000 miles of Minnesota's forests and grand-in-aid trails. There are a large number of ATV riders across the state who, during this weekend, can try the public trails without paying the additional registration fee."The weekend isn't a total free-for-all, as all other ATV regulations remain in place throughout the weekend. Of course, safety training is recommended for all riders, but it's required for those born after July 1, 1987. It's also worth mentioning that riders under the age of 18 need to wear a DOT-certified helmet, and riders under 16 must properly fit the ATV that they're riding.
