Kia has completely redone the Seltos for 2027. The compact crossover looks just like its bigger siblings but scaled down – scaled down only slightly because it still offers best-in-class passenger space on a longer wheelbase. The glow-up isn't free, though.Changes cost money, and Kia has raised prices across the board. A 2027 Seltos starts from $24,990 before the$1,495destination charge is added, which is $1,200 more than the model it replaces. Some trims are as much as $1,900 more than before. Let's take a closer look at the details. Seltos Is Bigger, More Rugged, More Expensive Kia The new styling for this year transforms a subcompact that was cheerful and almost cute into one that's far more aggressive. A tall, wide grille opening with a wide-mesh grille, tall accent lights, and another set of accent lights around the headlamps all contribute to the effect. It works on the three-row Telluride; we're not sure yet about the smaller Seltos.Seltos has grown to match the new face. It has an extra 2.5 inches between the wheels and is 1.8 inches longer overall, as well as an inch wider. That gives it up to 64.1 cubic feet of cargo space along with more space for passengers. For 2027, the lineup starts with the front-drive Kia Seltos LX. With the destination fee plugged in, the starting price is $26,485. That gets you a 147-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder with CVT. Standard equipment includes a 12.3-inch digital dash and same-sized center screen, a safety suite that includes adaptive cruise (but not blind spot warnings), and 16-inch alloy wheels.Next up is the Seltos S, which adds 18-inch alloys, flush door handles, and black exterior trim. It also comes with a power-adjustable driver seat and a wireless phone charging pad, and the safety suite expands to include blind-spot warnings and rear cross-traffic alerts. The EX adds a power hatch, fake leather seats, and some other comfort extras. 2027 Kia Seltos Pricing Hybrids Coming, But Not For A While Kia Kia also has two new X-Line models for the Seltos, which are aimed at buyers who want a more rugged look. Off-road-ready features like shiny piano black fender flares and tough-looking wheels help out with that. So does the new suspension with an extra inch of ground clearance. At the top of the line, the X-Line SX model also adds a 1.6-liter turbo-four and an eight-speed automatic transmission. It makes 190 hp and has a torque-vectoring all-wheel drive system. A Prestige package for the X-Line SX adds navigation, Harman Kardon audio, and a new set of seats that includes ventilation, and the driver gets the reclining Comfort Seat you'll find in the company's EVs.Gas versions of the 2027 Seltos are expected to show up at dealers anytime now. A hybrid model is coming, but pricing for it hasn't been announced. Expect the hybrid in showrooms near the end of the year, and AWD hybrid models will use an electric motor at the rear instead of the driveshaft, the first time Kia has used this system. CarBuzz Insight – Why This Matters: Affordability is important right now, and for automakers that means more than just low prices. It also means vehicles customers want. The new Seltos leans hard into what customers want, with more features and more aggressive styling. But the least expensive trim is also $1,200 more than the model it replaced, and that has a big impact in terms of affordability. It's also joining a more crowded showroom at Kia, which includes the similarly-sized EV3 and K4 Hatchback. For a little less money, those vehicles or the Niro are there. For not much more, there's the far larger Sportage. The Seltos might have a challenging time finding buyers in this segment.
