Although better known for its Porsche 911–based handling packages, German motorsports firm Manthey Racing isn't afraid to turn a wrench on the company's other products. Amid myriad GT2 and GT3 versions, the company already offers a setup for the 981 and 982 generations of the Cayman. It's also getting into electric cars as well, applying the same record-setting magic to the Taycan as it does to Porsche's combustion-powered sports cars. In fact, a Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach package and Manthey Kit just set a new lap record at the Nürburgring, retaking the production electric sedan title back from the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra. Taking An Aggressive EV Even Higher The Manthey Kit for the Taycan Turbo GT Weissach (what a mouthful) starts with significant aerodynamic upgrades, including a new rear wing with larger side blades, revised front and rear diffuser designs, and enlarged air deflectors on the EV's smooth underbody. The forged aluminum 21-inch wheels also get aerodiscs in the rear, and despite being wider than the stock Weissach's rollers, they save a total of six pounds of unsprung weight. Wider performance tires are standard, and semi-slick (but still road-legal) Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS tires are an option.PorscheTo take advantage of the tripled downforce (1,631 pounds total) and added grip, the Manthey Racing Taycan also gets a special tune for its Porsche Active Ride suspension, developed in collaboration with engineers from both companies. The all-wheel-drive system and four-wheel steering also get tweaked for maximum performance. The front brake discs are upsized as well, from 16.5 to 17.3 inches. The rear stoppers are the same as before, except for the higher-performance brake pads found on all four corners. And in a first for a Manthey Kit, the Taycan Turbo GT also gets more grunt than its factory-stock sibling, with the short-acting Launch Control providing the same 1,019 horsepower but 936 pound-feet of torque, an increase of 22 lb-ft. There's also more power available in the car's other drivetrain modes, with 804 hp available at any time (up from 777 hp) and 978 hp available in the 10-second-boosted Attack setting (up from 938 hp). Expect 0-60 acceleration times to fall one or two tenths from the stock Weissach, which clocks in at 2.1 seconds.Porsche An Electric Sedan With Racing-Inspired Style As on the 911, Manthey Kit distinguishes itself from a standard Taycan Turbo GT via the obviously changed rear wing and carbon wheel discs, but there are also new upper and lower wheel arch vents in exposed carbon fiber, as well as broader side skirts for a racy, aggressive appearance. Carbon fender extensions provide coverage for the wider wheel-and-tire setup, while dive planes on the front bumper set the stage for both a grand entrance and impressive aero. Taken as a whole, the EV looks phenomenal, bringing a little more edge to the friendly-looking Taycan.2026 Porsche Taycan Turbo GT With Manthey Kit Nürburgring Record RunPorsche and Manthey brought a camouflaged version of their new baby to the Nürburgring on April 15, where they threw down a quick 6-minute, 55.533-second time on the 12.9-mile track, averaging nearly 112 miles per hour. That is very nearly the fastest production electric car to ever lap the Green Hell – the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive did it in 6:50 in 2013. But that lap time does allow Porsche to recapture the electric saloon record from the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, which ran the track in 7:04.957 in 2025. It also represents a big improvement from the non-Manthey Taycan Turbo GT that set a 7:07.55 lap time in 2024.Pricing for the Manthey Kit hasn't been revealed, but we doubt it'll be cheap, considering the stock Taycan Weissach runs $243,700, while the branded handling upgrades for 911 sports cars can easily run north of $100,000. But if that sounds like a deal to you, ordering it will be easier than ever, as the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT with the Weissach package will be available directly from the factory with the Manthey Kit installed – the first time that's ever been possible.
