This collaboration will allow drivers to monitor and open or close their garage doors remotely, directly from a vehicle's touchscreen infotainment display. Other brands of garage door openers, including Craftsman and Chamberlain, can also be upgraded to work as a smart garage using a myQ garage control device. This compact add-on is cloud-based and doesn't require any additional hardware installed in a vehicle or manual programming, per the release. Once a customer opens a myQ account, their garage doors will automatically be connected to a compatible Hyundai vehicle when linked via a Hyundai Bluelink account."Hyundai myQ Connected Garage seamlessly integrates simple and secure smart access technology into drivers' daily routines," said Kiel Fitzgerald, VP, sales strategy and operations at Chamberlain Group. It includes a "close door reminder" feature if the auto-close feature is interrupted, and a prompt on the vehicle's touchscreen within a chosen timeframe to close the garage door remotely. The backup camera, with a shift to reverse, can also be set to trigger the door.AdvertisementAdvertisementThe tech offers a valet mode which disables the service for additional security when valet parking at a hotel or restaurant. Drivers can monitor and control additional garage doors in multiple locations by linking to their myQ account from a Hyundai vehicle's touchscreen display.The Hyundai myQ Connected Garage feature is being offered with a three-month complimentary trial.
