Five Classic Wagons Fit For The Family (Or Your Band Gear)

Classic wagons are both practical and sporty, and being based on sedans, their lower center of gravity makes them more fun to drive than modern crossovers or SUVs.  Many consider wagons to be the “cool” alternative to family SUVs. After all, the long roofs offer more cargo space without lifting the vehicle’s suspension and compromising driving dynamics. And while the majority of crossovers are just as practical as a wagon, the drivetrains are typically designed to be front-wheel drive. Wagons are more often rear-wheel drive, offering more even weigh distribution and better turning in corners.

Have you ever passed a sedan or coupe on the dragstrip while driving a wagon? The satisfaction that comes from driving a fast wagon is strong enough to keep a grin sprawling across your face for days.

Whether you clicked on this article looking for a high-performance wagon, a classic car that can accommodate the whole family, or a practical beauty that will haul your band gear while also being car show ready, there are plenty of classic wagons for sale on Hemmings Marketplace to choose from. Check out five favorites:
