Cadillac V-One Is Basically a Le Mans Car for OneCadillacThe Cadillac V-One Concept, unveiled during Monterey Car Week, is a single-seat track car that draws directly from the V-Series.R prototype Cadillac races in both the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and FIA World Endurance Championship. While Cadillac is calling the V-One a concept for now, the exercise suggests the automaker is looking at offering it to its wealthy customers, giving them, in essence, a factory-built track car with performance approaching that of its competition machinery. The V-One was developed jointly by Cadillac Design, Cadillac Racing, and Dallara, which builds the chassis for the V-Series.R. And it goes way beyond just replicating the race car's look; the concept actually shares significant hardware with it, including elements of its suspension, transmission, electronics, and hybrid powertrain. That powertrain combines a V8 engine with hybrid assistance to produce 830 hp. Cadillac hasn't released detailed performance figures, but the automaker says the V-One is intended to deliver performance comparable to the V-Series.R while being easier for a nonprofessional driver to operate.CadillacThe suspension echoes the race car's double-wishbone layout, pushrod-actuated springs, and separate lateral and heave dampers at both ends. Cadillac also gave it a race-inspired center screen that would give drivers with performance data and coaching as they learn the car.AdvertisementAdvertisementThe connection to Cadillac's racing program is more than cosmetic. Since debuting in 2023, the V-Series.R has tallied 10 victories, 16 pole positions, and 32 podium finishes across IMSA and WEC competition. Its résumé includes the 2023 IMSA manufacturers', teams', and drivers' championships, the 2025 Le Mans Hyperpole, and Cadillac's first WEC 1-2 finish at São Paulo.Visually, the V-One remains remarkably close to the competition car, retaining much of its basic body and proportions. It does sport new V-Series wheels and darkened badging, as well as a hand-painted gradient that transitions from silver to deep navy.Inside, there is room for only one. The exposed carbon-fiber cockpit gets a custom-fitted driver's seat and a steering wheel whose button configuration can be tailored to the owner. Cadillac also incorporates more luxurious materials and a serialized plaque.Cadillac hasn't announced production plans, pricing, or how many V-Ones it might build. The company describes it as the "ultimate manifestation of a customer performance concept," which leaves the door conspicuously open.
