Mercedes-Benz has revealed the interior of its upcoming electric 2027 C-Class ahead of the model’s full debut later this month, showing off a cabin swimming in luxury, technology, and comfort. In keeping with current trends, large digital displays dominate the interior. The electric C-Class sports a wide, dashboard-spanning screen layout, with the optional MBUX Hyperscreen delivering what Mercedes describes as an “exceptionally immersive sense of space.” The system uses matrix backlighting with nearly 10 million pixels and supports multiple ambient themes, allowing drivers to customize the lighting and graphics. There’s also plenty of ambient lighting throughout the cabin, even extending onto the panoramic roof, which incorporates 162 illuminated elements that create a sort of starry-sky effect. Filling the space with sound are available Burmester 3D and 4D surround-sound systems, which Mercedes describes as contributing to a multisensory experience.2027 Mercedes-Benz C-Class EVComfort is another area Mercedes says it spent a good deal of energy. New high-end seats feature electro-pneumatic lumbar support, ventilation, and massage functions; putting it all together is an optional program the automaker calls “Energizing Comfort” that enables a combination of lighting, sound, and seat motion designed to reduce fatigue on long drives.Buyers also will be able to choose from a variety of finishes, from a Nappa leather with a new diamond pattern, to an AMG Line seats featuring detailed stitching. Mercedes is also keen to promote its sustainability push with an optional vegan interior it says is certified by The Vegan Society and which covers surfaces from seats to headliner and carpeting.2027 Mercedes-Benz C-Class EVThe 2027 C-Class EV also gets a new climate control system that can heat the cabin twice as fast as a traditional combustion-engine model could in cold conditions while using about half the energy, thanks to a multi-source heat pump. And Mercedes says the car will be quieter due to the use of more sound insulation and noise-reducing glass. The electric C-Class is not expected to replace the ICE model, with both being offered side by side. The global premiere of the C-Class is set for April 20.Autoweek SOC EV Newsletter sign up
