As the Beijing Auto Show (Auto China 2026) approaches, BMW has officially announced its lineup for the 2026 event. The BMW, MINI and BMW Motorrad brands will present a total of 16 debut models, including four global premieres and eight China premieres. From a structural perspective, the focus remains on the Neue Klasse product line. The all-new BMW 7 Series and its fully electric counterpart, the i7, will complete their global debut ahead of the show, marking a major generational upgrade for BMW’s flagship sedan. At the same time, the Neue Klasse BMW iX3 long-wheelbase version and i3 long-wheelbase version will also be unveiled, clearly targeting demand in the Chinese market. BMW i3 Among them, the Neue Klasse BMW iX3 has seen strong demand in Europe since its global debut at the Munich Motor Show last September, with its share of BMW’s electric vehicle orders continuing to rise. These long-wheelbase models are designed specifically for Chinese consumers. This reflects the fact that China remains BMW’s largest single market globally. Although deliveries in China reached 625,000 units in 2025, down 12.5% year-on-year, the overall scale continues to play a central role. Meanwhile, domestic brands are rapidly advancing in the mid-size pure electric segment, where intelligent cockpits and advanced driver assistance systems have become key competitive factors. Traditional luxury brands are under pressure to close this gap. BMW iX3 Against this backdrop, the Neue Klasse platform has become BMW’s core strategic lever at this stage. Compared with its existing architecture, this platform introduces significant upgrades in electronic and electrical systems, energy efficiency and intelligent capabilities, while incorporating more features tailored to Chinese usage scenarios. In addition to its core models, BMW will also debut in China the BMW Speedtop concept car, the BMW V12 LMR—winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans overall—and special editions including the 2026 BMW 4 Series Edge Limited Edition and the BMW M3 Touring 40th Anniversary Edition. BMW Speedtop concept car The MINI brand will showcase 14 personalized models, including one global debut concept and multiple China premieres. In recent years, BMW has taken a relatively steady approach to electrification. However, in the Chinese market, its pace has clearly lagged behind some competitors. With the gradual rollout of Neue Klasse models, BMW is now entering a more intensive product launch cycle.
