Bentley has just done something it hasn't done in almost 65 years. The refreshed Flying Spur sedan has an audio system from the coachbuilt Batur, and it has new levels of luxury that include five different types of seats. But the blast from the past is its headlights. This new look is something that hasn't been seen since the early days of the space race – aka the 1960s. Let's check out the changes in more detail. The Latest Spur Gets The Family Face BentleyThere are five different versions of the new Bentley sedan, ranging from the hardly basic Flying Spur to the Mulliner. In between are the Azure, Speed, and the return of the Flying Spur S, which Bentley calls the driver's car of the bunch. All five use the company's 4.0-liter V8-powered High Performance Hybrid system. It's just like a normal hybrid system, but installed in a Bentley, where it makes 671 horsepower and 686 pound-feet of torque in its most basic form. The Speed gets one badged as the Ultra High Performance version that makes 771 hp and 738 lb-ft.The two versions of the system push the standard models from zero to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds and to 168 mph flat-out. The Speed can do the former in 3.3 and hit 191 mph when you're late for that business meeting or racing your friend's private jet cross-country. Customize Everything, Including A Killer New Stereo Bentley Every Flying Spur delivers a list of options and customizations that would make Henry Ford have to sit down with a light head, and that won't change this year. Instead, there are now five different seat styles to pick from, with each requiring 12 hours of hand-crafting to assemble.Bentley is also adding a series of Virtuoso Collection cars that will include the Naim for Mulliner audio system developed for the Batur. It uses Naim's amplifiers along with 21 of Focal's Grand Utopia line of speakers and costs $34,000. Like in the Bentayga and Continental GT, it will offer three curated themes to go with. This is the first Flying Spur S in a few years, and the sport model returns with the suspension from the faster and more powerful Speed model. That includes twin-valve active dampers, torque vectoring, and Bentley's Dynamic Ride anti-roll system. If the existing list of around 200 paint colors isn't enough, there is a new one this year. It's called Dark Teal, and Bentley describes it as "a stunning new mid-blue" with hints of green and metallic flakes.Customers can visit their dealers to spec out their new Flying Spur now. The rest of us can spend hours going through options on the online configurator, knowing that Bentley's bespoke arm Mulliner can create even more. Deliveries of the sedan will start early in the fourth quarter of this year. CarBuzz Insight – Why This Matters: Bentley's change to the front of the Flying Spur makes it the first Bentley sedan with just a pair of lights since it introduced the S3 in 1962. We know what you're thinking, but the Arnage et al. had two separate lamps under one cover. That sounds like a big change, but it's also one that was completely expected. The Continental GT, which has a similar face, made the change in 2024. The company's new smaller SUV has also been captured in spy photos with the single-lamp look. Expect the Bentayga SUV to get the same change the next time it is refreshed.2027 Bentley Flying Spur dynamic (3)
