Buzz-Buzz: A Super Bee Charger Might Be Coming SoonDodgeDodge's most powerful Charger Sixpack yet will likely wear the Super Bee name, a new teaser video from Dodge suggests. The video features bees buzzing around a drag racing light stand and ends with Wiz Khalifa's "Black and Yellow" playing over an alternating black-and-yellow screen.Dodge is expected to announce the alleged Super Bee on August 7 during a media preview before the Roadkill Nights event kicks off in Pontiac, Michigan.Dodge is creating a buzz ahead of its special announcement regarding an upgraded Charger. In a 15-second video posted to social media, hundreds of bees mill around a drag racing Christmas tree light post as its amber lights flash. When it turns to green, the bees scatter, and Wiz Khalifa's "Black and Yellow" begins to play over an alternating black-and-yellow screen. The message is pretty clear: A Charger Super Bee is on the way. While we don't know full details yet, we have a solid idea of what's ahead. Dodge has said it will unveil its most powerful Charger Sixpack yet to the public on August 8 during Roadkill Nights in Pontiac, Michigan. The current Sixpack makes a maximum 550 horsepower from a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six, and we're pretty confident the upgrade will bring it closer to 600 ponies. Now, we're also pretty sure it'll wear certain bee graphics.AdvertisementAdvertisementThe Super Bee nameplate has appeared a few times in Dodge's history. The first iteration emerged in 1968 based on the Coronet as a budget-friendly muscle car. It spent a single year on the Charger's platform in 1971 before the name was retired for a few decades. Dodge revived the Super Bee in 2007 and 2012 as variants of the Charger, and again in 2023 as a "Last Call" special edition for the final year of the V-8-powered Charger (pictured below and at top).2023 Dodge Charger Super BeeDodgeDodge introduced the current-generation Charger in 2026 with the inline-six powertrain and two trim options: the lower-cost R/T that makes 420 horsepower, and the more expensive Scat Pack that pushes out 550 horses. The newest Charger Super Bee is expected to bring a notable increase in power. While the Super Bee started out as a budget-friendly option, its most recent iterations have landed a bit on the higher end. The 2023 Super Bee package added wide drag radial tires and a "Drag Mode" with adaptive dampers, along with SRT exterior upgrades, to the Scat Pack trim. We're expecting a similar formula, along with some extra horsepower, in this new release, which Dodge says is "the next era of Dodge muscle."PATRICK M. HOEY - Car and DriverThe reveal was originally said to be on August 8th during Roadkill Nights. The video, however, says the announcement is coming August 7, putting the debut in line with the press preview that will occur the day before Roadkill Nights officially starts. The following day will be the first time the car is publicly displayed. Pricing for the new Super Bee hasn't been announced yet, but we'd venture the added horsepower and Super Bee status will bring it closer to $70,000.➡️ Skip the lot.
