The 70mai 4K A900 Ultra Dash Cam puts 4K HDR cameras at both ends of the car, with parking surveillance and optional 4G connectivity adding to its appeal. For me, recording what's happening behind the car is just as important as capturing the road ahead. Here is my review.4K, front and backThe 4K A900 Ultra's main attraction is the attention given to both cameras. Each uses a Sony STARVIS 2 IMX678 sensor and records in 4K with HDR, giving users detailed coverage in both directions. That extra resolution is useful for picking out registration plates and road signs. HDR helps balance bright and dark areas, while 70mai's Night Owl Vision 2.0 processing is designed to reduce noise and improve detail in low-light footage.I appreciate that focus on night recording, especially with how dark UK roads can get. Of course, resolution alone won't make every moving registration plate readable. Speed, distance and lighting still have a big impact, but 4K and HDR can improve your chances of getting a clear image.Set it up rightI've positioned the front camera near the rear-view mirror, with the rear cable routed around the cabin. The thin cable helps with getting everything tucked away, though a tidy installation still takes some patience and care. The front unit is chunkier than the standard A900, but positioned near the rear-view mirror I didn't find it particularly intrusive.Wi-Fi 6 is another feature I'm happy to see. The downside of 4K clips is that they're often much larger and can therefore be a pain to move onto a phone. Faster transfers with Wi-Fi 6 help to solve that issue.Check in while awayI also installed and activated the 4G Hardwire Kit 2 supplied for review. This enables remote viewing and alerts through the 70mai app, making it possible to check on the car without having to walk back to it. Parking in the UK can be awful, so some peace of mind is appreciated.Parking surveillance includes motion and collision detection. It can also save footage from before a detected event, which helps show how an incident began. These features do come with extra costs. The 4G Hardwire Kit 2 is a separate purchase for retail buyers, and remote access also needs a compatible mobile service. Some advanced cloud features require a paid plan, too.Disclosure: Review sample provided by 70mai.Final VerdictAt $299.99 for the front-and-rear set – though currently on sale for $239.99 – the 70mai 4K A900 Ultra offers a lot for the money. Giving both cameras 4K HDR recording is the biggest draw, while optional 4G access adds another reason to consider it for parking surveillance. The front unit is chunkier than the standard A900, but positioned near the rear-view mirror I didn't find it particularly intrusive. Buyers should factor in the cost of the extras, but there's plenty here to justify a strong recommendation.Positives and Negatives 4K HDR recording from both cameras Sony STARVIS 2 sensors front and rear Optional 4G remote viewing and alerts Fast Wi-Fi 6 clip transfers Good value for a dual-4K setup Connected features add hardware and service costs 9The post 70mai 4K A900 Ultra Dash Cam Review appeared first on GameRevolution.
