There’s just something about a Harley-Davidson that I really love. It’s not just the sound, or the way most of the bikes look when parked up — it’s just the whole vibe. A Harley has always been about presence, character, and that feeling you get the second you fire it up and roll out. Now, I’m not particularly picky when it comes to motorbikes. As a journalist, the job is to stay unbiased and deliver a proper, well-rounded take after every ride. The truth is, I just love riding, and anything with two wheels usually gets a nod of appreciation from me. But, if I were to spend serious money on a bike, I want it to do more than just look good. It has to excite me. It has to make me want to keep riding. And that’s exactly where this changes.I am not a huge fan of baggers, but there are quite a few of them out there that really tickle my senses. During Daytona Bike Week this year, Harley-Davidson hit me up with a chance to ride one from its 2026 lineup. This motorcycle was truly something exceptional. It takes everything that makes a Harley special — the attitude, the style, the road presence — and cranks it up with serious performance. The result is something that just feels too good to be true. However, with a price tag almost as high as a premium car, this Harley-Davidson motorcycle is clearly in a league of its own. The World Of Performance Bagger Motorcycles Jared Solomon / TopSpeed The world of motorcycles has changed and performance baggers might be having a serious moment right now. What used to be laid-back touring machines are suddenly packing big power, sharper suspension, and real handling, thanks in part to racing series like King of the Baggers pushing the limits. Riders now want it all, and that includes comfort for long hauls and performance when the road gets fun. But, most bikes still lean one way or the other, either too soft or too aggressive. Very few actually strike the right balance, which is exactly why this segment is getting so interesting. Meet The 2026 Harley-Davidson CVO Street Glide ST Jared Solomon / TopSpeed The 2026 Harley-Davidson CVO Street Glide ST is basically a high-performance muscle bike. This is a full-on CVO machine, which means it’s already top-tier in terms of finish, exclusivity, and presence. But the ST badge changes everything. It turns what would normally be a luxury cruiser into something way more aggressive. This thing is loud, it’s fast, and it feels like it’s been built with just enough restraint to still be street legal. Harley literally describes it as pushing the Batwing bagger into “uncharted territory,” and honestly, that doesn’t feel like marketing fluff to me.Visually, this thing looks like it means business.Jared Solomon You’ve still got that classic Batwing fairing, but everything around it feels tighter, sharper, and more performance-focused. The stance is more aggressive, helped by a wider and taller handlebar setup that gives it that proper club-style look while improving control. Then you start noticing the details.Forged carbon fiber is everywhere—front fender, console, seat cowl—and it’s not just for show. It cuts weight while adding this high-end, almost motorsport feel that you don’t usually associate with big touring Harleys. The paint options are wild too. My test bike was absolutely stunning in the light.Even when you saddle up, it’s properly modern. A massive 12.3-inch TFT screen runs Harley’s Skyline OS, giving you everything from ride modes to navigation in a clean, surprisingly slick interface. This isn’t old-school Harley anymore. This is Harley basically flexing its modern tech and engineering progress. The Engine Is All Muscle And The Ride Is Exhillirating Jared Solomon / TopSpeed This is where things get serious. At the heart of the bike is the Milwaukee-Eight 121 High Output V-twin, and it absolutely rips. You’re looking at around 127 hp and 145 lb-ft of torque, which is enough to punch a hole through the air. But let's look past those numbers because the way this engine delivers power is what stands out. There’s this immediate, punchy response thanks to the high-flow intake, and it just keeps pulling harder than you expect all the way through the rev range.Jared Solomon / TopSpeed And then, when you hit a corner, that’s when it really clicks. This thing handles too! You’ve got fully adjustable suspension with inverted forks and remote-reservoir shocks, Brembo brakes that actually feel like they belong on a performance machine, and a chassis that feels way more composed than any big bagger has a right to. There are also eight ride modes, including Track and Track+, which is honestly kind of insane on a bike like this.Jared Solomon / TopSpeed It still has that Harley DNA—it’s still big, still has presence—but now it actually backs it up when the road gets twisty. If you want to relax and ride, you can still do that easily. If you don't want to twist the throttle like a mad man, you can take it easy and just cruise. The bike still feels incredibly comfortable. I have to say that the seat on the CVO Street Glide ST is one of the most comfortable I have experienced on a test vehicle in a very long time. So, yes. Even though you get proper perromance brought over with racing pedigree, you still get the luxury and the comfort. The riding position and the ergonomics sit well between easy cruising and pushing it hard. A job very well done by Harley-Davidson. What Makes This Harley A Badass Muscle Motorcycle Jared Solomon / TopSpeed What makes the CVO Street Glide ST incredibly special is how unapologetic it is. Other baggers try to balance comfort and performance carefully, making sure not to scare off traditional buyers. This one doesn’t care. It leans into performance hard, without giving up the comfort and tech that make long rides enjoyable. You get a monster engine, real handling capability, a premium, almost custom-level fit and finish, and modern tech that actually feels useful. And somehow, it all works together. It doesn’t feel like a compromised bike, and it will surely make a statement wherever it goes. This is Harley proving it can still build something exciting, something aggressive, something that actually moves the game forward instead of just relying on nostalgia. Priced To Be Exclusive Of course, that kind of attitude comes with a seriously steep price. At around $45,000, the CVO Street Glide ST sits in a completely different league from your average bagger. This isn’t an upgrade you casually justify, this is a serious commitment. For that money, you’re deep into an exclusive category of motorcycle buyers, which makes this bike less about value and more about desire. But that’s kind of the point too, I guess. The price reflects not just the performance, but the exclusivity, the limited-production CVO treatment, and the level of detail you simply don’t get on standard models. You’re paying for something that feels special every time you look at it, not just when you twist the throttle. After spending a few days with the CVO Street Glide ST, I will say this though. If I had the money, this would be way up on my list of motorcycles I want in my garage. It's an absolute blast to ride.
