This makes it ideal for the buyer looking for AMG breeding in a little performance family hauler with 5+2 seating. The AMG-enhanced 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine under the hood produces 302 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, dispatched to the road via an AMG Speedshift 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and AMG Performance 4Matic all-wheel drive, enabling it to scoot to 60 mph in just 5.4 seconds. What's New for 2025?The 2025 Mercedes-AMG GLB's price increases by $1,050 this year, but that's the only change to a car that is otherwise a carry-over from 2024. It still comes with the same 48-volt mild-hybrid turbo-four and AMG-tuned powertrain and suspension, along with the MBUX infotainment system and a strong feature count.ExteriorThe 2025 AMG GLB still wears the familiar upright, boxy body that squeezes maximum interior volume from a subcompact footprint. It has unique AMG bumpers, an AMG Panamericana-style grille with vertical chrome slats, dual exhausts, a rear roof spoiler, and 19-inch AMG alloys, upgradable to 20s or 21s. Available AMG Night and Night Plus packages further personalize the car.mercedesView the 3 images of this gallery on the original articleInteriorThe interior is spacious enough that a tiny optional third row can be squeezed in, but it offers only 29.1 inches of legroom and 34.8 inches of headroom, so it's strictly for small children. The second row is generously proportioned for adults. You get heated and power-adjustable sports front seats with memory, MB-Tex leatherette upholstery, dual-zone climate control, and 64-color ambient lighting, but that third row, leather, and a heated steering wheel cost extra.AdvertisementAdvertisementThe MBUX system encompasses a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen incorporating biometric authentication, voice control, wireless smartphone integration, a wireless charging pad, and a 12-speaker Burmester audio system. Navigation, Wi-Fi, and a head-up display cost extra.mercedesView the 3 images of this gallery on the original articlePrice Range and Best Value TrimThere's just a single GLB AMG 35 trim, with customization driven through individual options and packages.Trim LevelPriceBase trim: AMG GLB 35 4Matic$58,950Top trim: AMG GLB 35 4Matic (fully optioned)$70,000Best value: AMG GLB 35 4Matic with Night Package$60,500Key SpecsPowertrainEngineHPTorqueTransmissionDrivetrainAMG-Enhanced 2.0L Turbo I4 + 48V mild hybrid302 hp295 lb-ftAMG Speedshift DCT 8-speedAMG Performance 4Matic AWDPerformanceMetricFigure0-60 mph5.4 sTop Speed155 mph (electronically limited)Total Range366 milesSeating Capacity5 (7 optional)Cargo Capacity (behind row 1 / 2 / 3)62 / 22 / 12.4 cu-ftFuel Economy (MPG)CityHighwayCombined212623WarrantyCoverageDurationComprehensive Limited4 years / 50,000 milesPowertrain4 years / 50,000 milesComplimentary MaintenanceNot includedRoadside Assistance4 years / unlimited milesCorrosion Perforation4 years / unlimited milesPros and ConsPros:302 hp delivers genuine AMG performance in a practical packageOptional third-row seating provides rare seven-passenger AMG capabilityUpright boxy design yields excellent visibility and ease of parkingAMG Performance 4Matic all-wheel drive handles all weather conditionsAdvertisementAdvertisementCons:Rear cargo space is tight with the optional third row deployedAMG-tuned suspension can feel firm over rough pavementSome interior plastics remain entry-level despite the AMG premiumFuel economy of 23 mpg combined trails non-performance compact SUVsVerdictThe Mercedes-AMG GLB 35 is a unique car on the local market and occupies its own little niche. Not only is the GLB the only premium subcompact SUV on the market with an available third seating row, but the AMG GLB 35 adds to this serious spice, with a 5.4-second 0-60 sprint thanks to a 302-hp AMG-fettled engine, an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, and AMG-tuned 4Matic AWD and suspension. It's not perfect, of course, and that third row is only suitable for small children, while the ride on broken tar can be jittery. The price also pushes this subcompact into the upper ranges of some compacts where the GLC becomes a genuine temptation, complicating the GLB's value proposition. But if you love the GLB's plucky nature, its cabin versatility, and its distinctive styling, but you want it with AMG spice, it might be just what you were looking for. There's nothing else out there quite like it.mercedesCompetitorsMercedes-AMG GLABMW X1 M35iMini Cooper Countryman JCWAlfa Romeo TonaleLexus NXShop the Car MarketplaceView the original article to see embedded media.AdvertisementAdvertisementThis story was originally published by Autoblog on Jun 5, 2026, where it first appeared in the Cars section.
