Offered at $199,900 by RK Motors in Charlotte, North Carolina, the bubble top pairs one of the prettiest rooflines Chevrolet ever stamped with a dyno-verified 1,015 horsepower and a chassis built by people who have done this at the highest level.A 632ci Big-Block With Nothing Left On The TableUnder the custom steel hood and its functional 4-inch cowl scoop sits a 632ci Dart Big M iron-block V8, and it is a serious piece. A Callies Magnum crankshaft, JE pistons and a full Jesel roller valvetrain live inside, while polished Pro-Filer aluminum cylinder heads and a matching intake feed an AED 1,250-cfm carburetor. An MSD Pro-Billet distributor, Taylor ignition wires, custom Ken Thompson headers and a Billet Specialties Tru Trac accessory drive finish the combination, which the included dyno sheet rates at 1,015 horsepower and 875 lb-ft of torque.Best of all, none of that goes through a slushbox. The undercarriage is finished to the same standard as the paint, which tells you everything about how this car was built.Show-Quality Paint, Chrome And LeatherMuscle Car Accessories of Taylorsville, North Carolina handled the paint and bodywork, laying Black over Toyota Speedway Blue and splitting the two with brightwork replated by Paul's Chrome Plating. The bumpers are tucked, filled and reshaped, the cowl panel is filled, the rear trim is shaved and the monochromatic rear valance carries chrome-trimmed LED taillights. It has the show history to back up the quality of the work, but the manual gearbox, the air conditioning, the 25-gallon fuel tank and those boom tubes make clear it was never meant to sit under a tent.Bubble tops have been fertile ground for big builds before, including the LS9-powered 1962 Bel Air we covered that made a very respectable 638 horsepower. But 1,015 horsepower through a five-speed manual is another conversation entirely.
