Are you ready for another Malaysian motorcycle? But this one does not seem to be the usual scooter and motorcycle: instead it is a “hybrid” which combines both forms of two-wheeled conveyance into what Mforce Bike Holdings call a “Skuchai” (a combination of scooter + kaphcai). It is not a merely hot air to grab headlines, because the company had invested RM10 million bring the bike to life. From Mforce Bike Holdings Sdn. Bhd.’s Press Release Mforce Bike Holdings Sdn. Bhd. announces the development of a new 200 cc motorcycle model featuring a CVT transmission and an innovative concept known as “Skuchai”, a fusion of scooter styling and a kapchai (moped)-based engine platform integrated with CVT technology commonly found in modern scooters. This concept is described as the first of its kind globally, combining three distinct elements, scooter design, moped-based engine architecture and automatic CVT transmission into a single, all-new platform, thereby creating a new segment within the two-wheel industry. To realise the development of this model, Mforce has invested RM10 million covering research and development (R&D), design engineering, durability testing, prototype development and technical adaptation to meet the requirements of both Malaysian and international markets. This investment reflects the company’s commitment to introducing innovation that goes beyond conventional market offerings. The “Skuchai” model combines scooter-like ergonomics and comfort with the durability and lightweight structure of a moped. At the same time, the adoption of a CVT system enables fully automatic riding without manual gear shifting, making it highly practical for daily urban commuting while remaining suitable for medium-distance travel and light adventure-oriented leisure riding. This approach not only delivers a smooth and responsive riding experience, but also establishes a new identity within the compact motorcycle segment. The development of this model is the result of a strategic collaboration with Mforce’s technology partner company in China, marking the first project undertaken by the partner since its establishment in early 2025. This involvement represents an important initial step in strengthening the Mforce Group’s global development network, particularly in platform engineering and technology integration. At the same time, Malaysian local engineers have played a significant role in conceptualising the initial idea, producing design sketches and developing the clay model before entering the production phase. The combination of international expertise and local creativity ensures that the resulting model is not only technologically competitive, but also aligned with the preferences of local and regional consumers. According to Asri Ahmad, Chief Operating Officer of Mforce, the company’s vision is to challenge industry norms by introducing something truly new at a global level. He explained that by integrating scooter design, a moped-based engine and a CVT system into a single platform, the company has successfully created a unique concept never before introduced. He added that the model is not merely a new product, but the creation of an entirely new category within the motorcycle industry. Asri Ahmad further revealed that the prototype has been fully completed and is currently in the pre-production stage for durability testing and comprehensive performance evaluation. These tests include simulations of daily usage and long-distance riding to ensure that quality, safety and durability meet the highest standards before its market introduction. He also confirmed that the “Skuchai” model will be publicly showcased for the first time at Malaysia Bike Show 2026, scheduled to take place in May. The exhibition will serve as the official platform to introduce this world-first concept to motorcycle enthusiasts, industry players and both local and international media. The official launch of the model is expected to take place in the first quarter of 2027, subject to the smooth completion of durability testing and final production preparations. Further details regarding full specifications and official pricing will be announced closer to the launch date.
