Image Credit: Porsche / YouTube.Porsche and Pixar have form when it comes to bringing animated cars to life. Their previous collaboration produced a fully functional Sally Carrera that raised $3.6 million for charity. So when Toy Story 5 came along, nobody at either company apparently said no. The result is three bespoke 911s — one each for Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie — that made their red carpet debut at the film's world premiere in Los Angeles on June 9.Each car was built by Porsche's Sonderwunsch division, which translates from German as "special wishes." That's the same team responsible for some of the most painstaking one-off builds in the brand's history, and they didn't treat this like a theme park prop. These are hand-crafted, fully engineered vehicles that took six to eight months to complete, with design teams collaborating across continents between Pixar's California campus and Porsche's facility in Stuttgart. The brief, according to the people who made it, was to channel each character's personality into the car rather than just slap on some stickers. That meant picking the right base model first, then working inward from there — colors, materials, badging, trim, and all the small Easter eggs that enthusiasts tend to notice long after everyone else has moved on.AdvertisementAdvertisementAll three cars have been sold to a private buyer for an undisclosed amount, with proceeds going to Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, the American Red Cross, and the Starlight Children's Foundation. Not a bad outcome for what could have easily been a forgettable movie tie-in.The Cars, One by OneThe Buzz Lightyear-inspired model is a 911 GT3 RS finished in the Space Ranger's white, green, and purple color scheme, with its large rear wing painted to echo Buzz's wings. The magnesium wheels carry custom Space Ranger center caps, and the Goodyear tires were rebranded as "Lightyear" tires with custom sidewall lettering. Door sills display "To Infinity and Beyond" in illuminated lettering — understated, it is not. Woody is a 911 Carrera T with a manual gearbox — fitting for a pull-string analog toy. The paint blends Golf Blue, Dark Sea Blue, and White to mimic the worn look of blue jeans, while the cabin mixes brown vintage leather, denim fabric, and a red checkered pattern on the seat inlays. The door sills read "Ride Like the Wind."Jessie's 911 Targa 4 GTS received its own exclusive Porsche paint color, Jessie White Metallic, with Cobalt Blue Metallic accents and Atacama Yellow on the hood and rear decklid. The targa bar badge reads "Jessie" in place of the standard model designationThis Isn't the First TimeThe Sally Carrera project proved wildly successful, delighting children and the adults who watched the original Cars as kids. This follow-up suggests the two companies found a working rhythm — and a good reason to keep at it.AdvertisementAdvertisementBoth brands lean heavily on the idea that their products get passed down: Porsche keys through families, Woody through generations of kids. It's a stretch, but not an unreasonable one. The TakeawayThree cars, three charities, a lot of denim-effect paint. Whether you grew up with Toy Story or just appreciate what Porsche's Sonderwunsch team can do with a blank canvas and a brief, these are worth a look.Toy Story 5 hits theaters June 19.If you want more stories like this, follow Guessing Headlights on Yahoo so you don't miss what's coming next.
