Crews working to repair a broken water main in the Kualoa area of Windward Oahu.KUALOA (HawaiiNewsNow) - Crews have repaired a 30-inch transmission water main break near Kualoa Regional Park, but traffic is being contraflowed on Kamehameha Highway.The Board of Water Supply said the break occurred early Saturday morning, interrupting service to Kualoa Regional Park and one customer.On Saturday, at 3 p.m., BWS said crews encountered complications and will remove a 2-inch water main before crews can complete work on the 30-inch transmission main.On Sunday, at 11 a.m., BWS said crews have completed repairs to the 30-inch transmission main and are working to reinstall the 2-inch service main that was removed.At 2:45 p.m., BWS said repairs are complete, and water service was restored to all affected areas. Crews are now filling in the trench and repairing the roadway.BWS said the Kaneohe-bound lane remains closed at this time, with traffic contraflowed in the Kahuku-bound lane.Motorists were cautioned to expect significant delays and to proceed with caution while driving through the break site.
