The return includes a new Tourer 4Motion trim designed for overnight camping.Volkswagen says the 2027 ID.Buzz will come in four versions: Pro S RWD, Pro S 4Motion, Tourer 4Motion, and Pro S Plus 4Motion. The Tourer model, inspired by Europe’s 'Good Night Package,' features a fold-out mattress and platform for sleeping, window blinds, front ventilation panels, and collapsible outdoor furniture. Owners can adjust lighting, climate, and other systems using an Overnight Mode that helps save battery during long stops.Buyers stepping up to the Pro S 4Motion can expect a tow hitch that retracts when not in use, captain's chairs, a roof panel made from electrochromic smart glass, and wheels finished in 20-inch dark graphite, the automaker said.AdvertisementAdvertisementEvery 2027 ID.Buzz will include Volkswagen’s updated ID.S 6 infotainment system, one-pedal driving, and a North American Charging System port that works with Tesla Superchargers. New vehicles will also come with a free one-year trial of Volkswagen’s In-Vehicle Premium service, which lets owners use third-party apps. For safety, TravelAssist now supports assisted lane changes, and Emergency Assist can steer the van to the right shoulder or stop it completely if the driver does not respond.Volkswagen is also simplifying paint options for the U.S. market, offering only two-tone color schemes. Candy White over Cherry Red will be one of the new pairings on offer. Engadget noted that the exclusive two-tone policy appears designed to avoid a repeat of what happened with earlier inventory, when a manufacturing shortfall sent an outsized share of single-color units to American lots; with U.S. customers showing a clear preference for dual-color finishes, Volkswagen had to subsidize dealer wraps to make those vehicles more appealing. The gap in the ID.Buzz's U.S. lineup was intentional: as Electrek reported, Volkswagen announced last December that skipping 2026 would give the company room to clear out remaining 2025 stock before the new model arrived. The new 2027 models are expected to begin arriving at U.S. dealerships in August, with additional configurations following in early 2027, Volkswagen said.Volkswagen did not announce changes to the ID.Buzz's price or driving range for the new model year.
