Toyota already showed us its vision for tackling snow-covered mountains with its Snowhunter concepts. Naturally, the carmaker chose its most rugged trucks and SUVs as the basis for these snow-conquering machines. But what about minivan owners, or people who drive electric crossovers? What happens when they want to venture off-road? Well, Toyota has something for them this year, too: its new Woodland concepts give the RAV4, Grand Highlander, Sienna, bZ EV, and Crown Signia their own off-road treatment.
Built for the 2026 SEMA Show, the five Woodland concepts give some of Toyota's more family-friendly models an off-road makeover. All five vehicles were developed with a common design theme, one established by the company’s CALTY Design Research branch: combining everything that makes these vehicles great for hauling the family, with an extra dose of adventure.
Each vehicle is finished in Horizon Blue paint. Toyota didn't select that color just because it thought it would look pretty; it's a nod to classic Toyota models from the 1960s, including the Stout, Crown, and Corona. Contrasting the lovely blue shade are black accents on the hoods and roofs, giving the vehicles a distinctive two-tone appearance.
But Toyota didn’t just give the vehicles a paint job and call it a day. The five concepts share several off-road upgrades, including suspension lift kits, oversized fender flares, rugged satin-black wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires, and roof racks with crossbars. That might not be enough to conquer the Rubicon Trail, but it certainly makes these family haulers look ready for something more adventurous than the morning school drop-off.
While all of the concepts are interesting, the most surprising might be the Toyota Sienna version, which goes above and beyond the previous Woodland variant. Minivans excel at taking the whole family to grandma's house or helping a friend move across town, but you don't often see one driving off into the woods. Give one some additional ground clearance and all-terrain tires, however, and suddenly it starts looking like a pretty compelling adventure vehicle.
And that's the point Toyota is making with these concepts. We already know the 4Runner can get you almost anywhere. But with a little help, even the more family-focused vehicles in Toyota's lineup might be capable of taking you considerably farther off the beaten path than you'd expect.
