2027 Nissan Kicks Rock Creek First LookNissanNissan has announced changes to its subcompact Kicks SUV for 2027. Well, we should say "change," because there's really only one: the addition of the Rock Creek trim. The Kicks was fully redesigned for 2025.If you're not familiar with Nissan Rock Creek vehicles, they're dressed up with the same outdoorsy, go-anywhere visuals as Honda TrailSports, Subaru Wildernesses, Hyundai XRTs, and the like. But they stop short of adopting actual off-road hardware that will truly help get you deeper into the woods or desert.Indeed, the Kicks Rock Creek only adds a hill descent control function and an Off-Road chassis mode to affect the driving experience. The former will hold a steady speed when descending on dirt, sand, or other loose terrain, and the latter is basically an additional stability control program, since it only allows more wheelspin and nothing else. As one of the higher trim levels in the lineup, the Rock Creek comes with standard all-wheel drive.NissanThe visual changes are more significant. The 2027 Nissan Kicks Rock Creek has unique 17-inch wheels, a special grille, a roof rack capable of carrying 165 pounds, amber daytime running lamps, and glossy black exterior trim. It also picks up a couple handfuls of red mountain badges on the way off the assembly line, with this Rock Creek logo applied to the liftgate, roof rack doors, each wheel, and the grille. In the cabin, red stitching, embroidered Rock Creek logos, branded floormats, and a heated steering wheel are along for the ride.AdvertisementAdvertisementThe Rock Creek package builds on the Kicks' SV trim, and also brings automatic rear emergency braking, heated front seats, heated mirrors, vents for the rear seats, and a 360-degree camera view. How far off the beaten path can you venture with the Rock Creek? Well, Nissan's press materials have a FAQ section, with one question asking, "Is the 2027 Nissan Kicks Rock Creek designed for off-roading?" The company's answer: Its "enhancements can help owners when driving on slippery or unpredictable surfaces." So in other words, the answer is, "Not very far, Bob."NissanStill, it's a good-looking package at an attractive price given the cost of new vehicles these days: The MSRP is $30,385, which makes it the priciest way to outfit what is one of the cheapest new SUVs on sale in America today.Photo credit: NissanPhoto credit: NissanPhoto credit: NissanAdvertisementAdvertisementPhoto credit: NissanPhoto credit: NissanPhoto credit: NissanPhoto credit: NissanAdvertisementAdvertisementPhoto credit: NissanPhoto credit: NissanPhoto credit: NissanPhoto credit: NissanAdvertisementAdvertisementPhoto credit: NissanPhoto credit: NissanPhoto credit: NissanPhoto credit: NissanAdvertisementAdvertisementPhoto credit: NissanPhoto credit: NissanPhoto credit: NissanPhoto credit: NissanAdvertisementAdvertisementPhoto credit: NissanPhoto credit: NissanPhoto credit: NissanPhoto credit: NissanAdvertisementAdvertisementPhoto credit: NissanPhoto credit: NissanPhoto credit: NissanPhoto credit: NissanAdvertisementAdvertisementNissan also announced pricing for the full 2027 Kicks lineup at the same time it revealed the Rock Creek:S FWD$24,355+$430S AWD$25,835+$410SV FWD$26,035+$370SV AWD$28,035+$720SR FWD$28,535+$380SR AWD$30,335+$680Rock Creek$30,385New modelModelPriceDifference from 2026
