See the Colorado Grand Rally in a 27-Minute VideoColorado GrandTake your pick of the great vintage car rallies around the world, but you'd be hard-pressed to beat the Colorado Grand.Founded in 1989 to raise money for local charities in the towns through which it runs, the Colorado Grand sees some of the greatest sports cars of the 1930s through '50s roaring through canyons and over 12,000-foot passes of the mighty Rockie Mountains. This year's Grand ran from Vail to Crested Butte, to Snowmass and back to Vail over the course of four days. The rally is always timed to match peak fall colors.Cars allowed in the rally have to be 1960 or older, and this year saw Aston Martin DB4s, Ferrari 250 GTs (including a GTO), and Testarossas (the original Testarossas), a beautiful red Maserati 300 S, a Jag D-Type, an Alfa Romeo 8C 2300, and more Porsche 356s and Mercedes Gullwings than you could shake a crankshaft at.Click on and watch the vid, it's as close as you'll get to being there.
