Here are the SUVs that get the best gas mileage, based on a review in June of fueleconomy.gov and the online configurators of automakers. Compact SUVs2026 Kia NiroThe compact SUV segment is full of options with great gas mileage since they are small and most use four-cylinder engines. This class also has many hybrid options. The Kia Niro hybrid is the most efficient of them all with its 54 combined mpg. The Kia Sorento leads the group with a combined mpg of 37. It also has a third row of seating, even though it's a small one.
