Industry forecasts suggest the Electra E7’s price range will be between RMB 180,000–220,000 (approximately $25,800–$31,600), rivaling BYD Tang DM-i and the Li Auto L6. On January 22, SAIC-GM’s Buick released official images of the Electra E7 large five-seat family SUV. The model is scheduled to debut in the first quarter of 2026. In terms of exterior design, the Electra E7 carries forward the overall styling of the earlier Electra SUV concept. Front view of Electra E7 The closed front grille is paired with a wing-shaped motif and a high-recognition split headlight arrangement. The upper C-shaped daytime running lights are elongated, while the lower main lamps feature sequential lighting effects. Along the side, the body features semi-hidden door handles and 20-inch dense-spoke wheels. Dimensionally, the vehicle measures 4,850 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width and 1,676 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,850 mm — dimensions approaching those of some mid-to-large SUV models. The rear design continues Buick’s Electra family design language, with outward-spreading taillights extending from the central BUICK badge. Rear view of Electra E7 Illuminated at night, the taillight signature offers strong recognition, and the overall design remains restrained without overly complex lines. In terms of equipment, the Electra E7 is equipped with a 50-inch AR-HUD augmented reality head-up display. In addition to basic information such as navigation and vehicle speed, the system also supports the display of lyrics and multimedia content. The new SUV also features the “Xiaoyao Smart Drive” driver-assist system, a predictive RTD continuous damping variable suspension, and an advanced driver assistance solution based on the Momenta R6 reinforced learning large model. A rooftop lidar and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8775P chip are also included in the equipment list. On the powertrain front, the Electra E7 uses the “Zhenlong Plug-in Hybrid Pro” system, offering both 1.5L and 1.5T hybrid configurations. The CLTC pure electric range exceeds 210 km, while total range surpasses 1,600 km. Electra E7 Previously, the Electra L7 and the Encasa MPV had already adopted the “Zhenlong” hybrid system, with the L7 using a range-extended approach. The addition of the E7 indicates that this powertrain architecture is being applied across more model segments. Industry forecasts suggest the Electra E7’s core price range will be between RMB 180,000–220,000 (approximately $25,800–$31,600), with the entry version possibly dropping to around RMB 160,000 (about $23,000), rivaling BYD Tang DM-i and the Li Auto L6.
