WENN; John Greim / John Greim Photography/Newscom/The Mega AgencyThe city you live in makes a big difference in how safe you are on the road, with drivers in Philadelphia needing to be more careful than most.Personal finance website Wallethub conducted a study comparing 100 of America's largest cities using 30 indicators covering driving costs, traffic, infrastructure, safety and access to vehicles and maintenance.As per USA Today, Scottsdale, Arizona, was deemed the best city to drive in, followed by Boise, Idaho, and Fort Wayne, Indiana.Scottsdale earned the top spot with a score of 63.32. The city ranked especially well for traffic and infrastructure and had the fifth-lowest accident likelihood compared with the national average, as well as relatively low vehicle ownership costs.Ingram Publishing/Newscom/The Mega AgencyAt the other end of the spectrum, Philadelphia was ranked the worst city to drive in, followed by Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles, California.Philadelphia received a score of just 36.35 due to poor scores for traffic, infrastructure and safety. It also had the highest car theft rate among the 100 cities analyzed.Several of America's largest cities performed poorly because of traffic and infrastructure challenges. New York ranked last in the traffic and infrastructure category, while Chicago ranked 99th."Car prices have gone up significantly over the past few years. Living in one of the best cities to drive in can make owning and maintaining a car much cheaper," Chip Lupo, an analyst for WalletHub, said.
