Upon launch, the Dongfeng Nissan NX8 is expected to compete directly with the Leapmotor C16 and Li Auto L6. Following the mass production rollout and real-vehicle debut of the Dongfeng Nissan NX8, the manufacturer has officially unveiled the interior design details of this model. The NX8 is the third model in Dongfeng Nissan’s N Series, and the first to offer dual powertrain options following the N7 pure-electric sedan and N6 plug-in hybrid sedan. Positioned above both the N7 and N6, it serves as the brand’s sales engine for 2026 while shouldering the critical mission of elevating Dongfeng Nissan’s brand positioning. The Dongfeng Nissan NX8 is built on the Tianyan architecture, measuring 4870×1920×1680mm (L×W×H) with a wheelbase of 2917mm. The company claims an interior “room efficiency” of 83%, which provides substantial design flexibility for the NX8’s cabin. The NX8 features a wrap-around cockpit layout available in two color schemes: Ivory White and Elegant Black. The driver’s position includes a two-tone, dual-spoke multi-function steering wheel, while the electronic column shifter design frees up additional interior space. The Nissan NX8 features dual screens. The center console area is equipped with a large floating dual-screen setup—a 15.6-inch central control screen and a passenger entertainment display—complemented by a 10.25-inch floating rectangular instrument panel and an HUD head-up display system, creating a “four-screen interconnected” interaction design. Below the central screen are two 50W wireless charging pads for smartphones and two retractable cup holders. The cabin employs extensive perforated soft leather materials throughout, with gentle rounded corners at all transitions, balancing technological sophistication with warmth. The Nissan NX8’s interior incorporates numerous rounded design elements. To optimize passenger comfort, the NX8’s front passenger seat features the new AI Zero-Pressure Cloud Cushion seat, paired with 256-color intelligent ambient lighting integrated into the water-wave patterned door panels, further enhancing the comfort experience. Nissan NX8 rear seating. According to official information, the rear seating space is equally impressive, with optimized cushion length providing ample thigh support. The trunk offers a standard capacity of 570L, expandable with the rear seats folded down to accommodate more travel scenarios. The Nissan NX8’s front passenger seat is equipped with an AI Zero-Pressure Cloud Mattress seat. On the hardware side, the NX8 is equipped with a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor. Combined with the Momenta R6 large-scale model, it enables Highway Navigate-on-Autopilot (NOA), Urban Navigate-on-Autopilot (NOA), and full-scenario intelligent assisted parking functions. The EREV variant features a 1.5L turbocharged range extender with a maximum output of 109kW, paired with a 195kW drive motor. The BEV variant is built on an 800V high-voltage platform with CATL’s 5C ultra-fast charging technology, offering two motor options of 215kW and 250kW, with a maximum range of up to 650km. According to the product roadmap, the Dongfeng Nissan NX8 will officially open for pre-orders on March 20th. Upon market launch, it is expected to compete directly with the Leapmotor C16 and Li Auto L6.
