Similar to other Nio-branded vehicles, the ES9 is available with a BaaS battery rental service. It helps to reduce the car’s price to 390,000 – 520,000 yuan (57,470 – 76,620 USD). Deliveries of the ES9 with a center storage console will start on May 28. The variant with the open walking path between the second-row seats will commence deliveries in July. The Nio ES9 is the brand’s largest SUV with dimensions of 5365/2029/1870 mm and a wheelbase of 3,250 mm. It adopts Nio’s distinguishing design language with split headlights, a closed front end, retractable door handles, and blackened pillars. It also has an interesting design feature, which is a 2.68-meter-long strip along the door panels. The new vehicle rides on massive 23-inch forged wheels. The drag coefficient is 0.264 Cd. The Nio ES9 The Nio ES9 comes standard with electric doors, side steps, and seven color options: Snow Peak Gold, Cloud White, M42 Nebula Red, Antarctic Blue, Starry Green, Midnight Black, and Moonlight Silver. The optional Black Gold package is also available for purchase. They power 31 sensors, including three LiDARs. The ES9 supports the Navigate on Autopilot function that allows the car to drive from address to address on its own. The zero-to-hundred acceleration time is 4.3 seconds. The ES9 adopts a 102 kWh ternary NMC battery pack for 620 km of range. It supports fast DC charging and battery swap technologies. Other features are the steer-by-wire system with a variable steering ratio. The car’s chassis adopts an active suspension that allows adjusting the ride height and stiffness. It also supports rear-wheel steering, reducing the turning radius to 5.4 meters. The car’s ground clearance could be increased by 60 mm. According to China EV DataTracker, Nio delivered 18,991 cars domestically in April 2026, down 1.4% Year-Over-Year. The new ES8 is the current brand’s bestseller.
