AutoExe has launched an adventurous kit for the new CX-5. A second street-focused bodykit offers a Mazdaspeed-like look. Performance and chassis upgrades will arrive this fall. The aftermarket is moving faster than Mazda on this one. The company is reportedly weighing an off-road-tuned version of the new CX-5 to take on the Toyota RAV4 Woodland and Subaru Forester Wilderness, but nothing has been confirmed yet. In the meantime, Japanese tuner AutoExe, founded by former Mazda Le Mans factory driver Yojiro Terada, has rolled out a rugged kit for the CX-5, along with a sportier alternative. The adventurous KM-07 AX (Active Xross) kit centers on a redesigned lower front bumper section with integrated LEDs flanking an aluminum-style skid plate. The look is rounded out with bolt-on overfenders in matte or gloss black, an aluminum-style rear diffuser that doubles as a skid plate, and a matching trim piece for the tailgate For buyers who want the complete package, AutoExe offers rally-style mud flaps in red or black, custom decals for the hood and rear doors, and door handle protectors. By contrast, the street-biased KM-07 kit reads more like a MazdaSpeed take on the CX-5. The bodykit pulls together a front bumper extension with a pronounced splitter, deeper side skirts, a roof spoiler, and a rear bumper extension that frames the dual tailpipes. Buyers can pair them with carbon-finish window visors and door handle protectors to round out the look. The styling kits and the upcoming chassis and performance enhancements will become available through Mazda dealerships in Japan.
