Mercedes-Maybach has introduced an S-Class customized by LeBron James. It echoes his personal car and features a light ivory exterior and blue interior. Model will debut at Monterey Car Week and then be auctioned for charity. Monterey Car Week is officially underway and Mercedes is looking to make a splash with an assortment of models. This includes the new AMG GT SUV as well as rare classics. Modern vehicles will be on display at the Future Classics Auction House and one of the stars is a Maybach S-Class personalized by LeBron James. It’s being billed as a “near-identical twin” of his personal car. It sports a light ivory exterior with matching wheels. The model is also notable for trading V12 badges for “LJ” emblems. Inside, there’s Stormy Weather Nappa leather that contrasts with porcelain white stitching. We can also see Black Piano Lacquer Flowing Lines trim and numerous “LJ” logos. They’re accompanied by “discreet engravings” that reference Akron, Ohio and James’ family. One of these appears to be a center console badge with the GPS coordinates of the city. The 2027 Mercedes-Maybach S 680 has a twin-turbo 6.0-liter V12 developing 621 hp (463 kW /630 PS) and 664 lb-ft (899 Nm) of torque. It’s connected to a nine-speed automatic transmission and a standard all-wheel drive system. This enables the ultra-luxury flagship to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 4.3 seconds. Following its appearance at the event, the car will be auctioned off to support the LeBron James Family Foundation. The First American Mercedes Will Also Be Showcased Putting the Maybach aside, Mercedes will also show the AMG One, AMG PureSpeed, and the AMG G 63 Galactic Pearl. They’ll be joined by “additional vehicles showcasing the innumerable possibilities of Manufaktur customization.” For those more interested in the past, when Mercedes didn’t add tacky stars to everything, there’s a 1938 540K Streamliner that is described as “one-of-one.” It will be accompanied by a 1905 “American Mercedes,” which was the first Mercedes built in the United States. It was made in Queens, New York and recently underwent an extensive restoration by Mercedes-Benz Classic. It’s the last known remaining example, so it’s certainly worth checking out. Other highlights include a 1938 320 Streamliner Sedan, a 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II, and 300 SL Roadster. They’ll be joined by the new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe as well as the CLK 63 AMG Black Series.
