Kruse Auctions Returns to Auburn This Labor Day WeekendLabor Day weekend means one thing for collector car fans in northeast Indiana: the return of the Auburn Auction & Show. Now in its 56th year, the event presented by Kruse Auctions kicks off this week at Kruse Plaza Auction Park, with a preview day on Wednesday followed by three full days of bidding running Thursday through Saturday, each starting at 10 a.m.The sale is open to the public as well as registered bidders, with hundreds of vehicles set to cross the block over the three-day run. Nearly seventy percent of the consignments are being offered at no reserve, meaning the top bidder walks away with the car regardless of price. The lineup spans everything from pre-war classics and muscle cars to modern customs, with several notable private collections and a strong selection of automobilia rounding out the catalogue.Among the pre-war highlights is a 1932 Packard Twin Six Dual Cowl Sport Phaeton with a history in several major collections, an award-winning 1932 Duesenberg Model J "Sweep Panel" Dual Cowl Phaeton, and a 1936 Jensen-Ford Tourer once photographed with Clark Gable. The catalogue cover car is a one-off 1953 Cadillac "Elegante" concept built by Carrozzeria Motto, a design that turned heads at the 1955 International Automobile Show in New York.AdvertisementAdvertisementFive no-reserve collections are also part of the sale. The Coffee Walk Collection includes a numbers-matching 1971 Dodge Challenger Hemi R/T and one of just 40 new Shelby GT350/Trans Am builds, which served as a press test car for Shelby and Road & Track. European sports car fans can look toward a 1959 AC Ace Bristol with its original engine and a low-mileage 1999 Ferrari F355 Spider. Rounding out the field are a pair of 1990s favorites often called "youngtimers," a 1994 Toyota Supra Twin-Turbo and a no-reserve 1994 Dodge Viper RT10 with under 800 miles on the odometer. For collectors of automobilia, the Ron Sutton Lifetime Memorabilia Collection brings a range of gas pumps and porcelain signage to the block, alongside a broader selection of petroliana. A hand-embroidered charity quilt honoring "250 Years of Freedom" will also be auctioned for a good cause, marking the final installment of a tradition that has run for four decades.Auburn has been tied to the Kruse family name for generations, since John Kruse's grandfather, Russell Kruse, launched the family's auctioneering business there back in 1952. John Kruse, the company's current owner and auctioneer, says he's proud to keep that tradition going and invites everyone to experience the atmosphere in the town where the collector car auction industry got its start.Tickets are available as single-day or four-day passes, either online in advance or on-site at the gate. The Kruse Plaza Auction Park is located at 5634 Opportunity Blvd., Suite A, in Auburn, and full inventory listings along with bidder registration are available at kruseauctions.com.⚡️ Read the full article on MotoriousSign up for the Motorious Newsletter.
