Production line to begin operations in 2026, pilot vehicle trials in 2027, and mass production by 2030. Gotion High-Tech announced today on its investor interaction platform that the design work for the company’s 2GWh all-solid-state battery mass production line has been essentially completed. This also marks 2026 as a pivotal year for Gotion High-Tech’s solid-state battery commercialization, transitioning from the “laboratory” phase to the “production line” phase. Gotion completes design of 2GWh all-solid-state battery production line. Gotion High-Tech’s all-solid-state battery technology roadmap centers on sulfide electrolytes, with its “Golden Stone Battery” technology having achieved multiple breakthroughs. Publicly available information shows that the 0.2GWh all-solid-state battery pilot line, completed in May 2025, achieved 100% independent line development and 100% localization of core equipment, with a yield rate of up to 90%—far exceeding industry averages. Pilot sample specifications indicate a cell energy density of 350Wh/kg, a single cell capacity of 70Ah, and a single-charge range of up to 1,000 kilometers. Vehicle mounting tests have already commenced, with cumulative road testing exceeding 10,000 kilometers. The core technological innovation lies in solving the long-standing solid-solid interface impedance issue that has plagued solid-state battery development. Gotion High-Tech employs three-dimensional mesoporous silicon anodes and ultra-thin film single-crystal cathode materials, increasing sulfide electrolyte ionic conductivity by 60%, requiring only MPa-level pressure to operate. In terms of safety, the Golden Stone Battery passed the 200°C hot box test in one attempt—higher than the national standard of 130°C—with a cycle life of 3,500 cycles (capacity retention rate ≥80%), capable of stable operation in extreme environments ranging from -40°C to 80°C. The completion of this 2GWh mass production line design signifies that Gotion High-Tech has advanced its all-solid-state batteries from the “technical feasibility verification” stage to the “economic feasibility verification” stage. According to plans, this production line is expected to commence operation in 2026, achieve small-batch vehicle mounting experiments in 2027, and enter large-scale mass production by 2030. Beyond Gotion High-Tech, multiple companies including FAW, GAC, BYD, and CATL have announced the commissioning of pilot production lines or achieved Phased breakthroughs. Wang Chao, General Manager of the Electrochemical Energy Storage Research Institute at the National New Energy Storage Innovation Center, stated that China’s solid-state battery industry is focusing primarily on the sulfide route, with plans to achieve small-scale mass production by 2027. All-solid-state batteries are expected to gradually reach commercialization inflection points after 2030.
