Gasgoo Munich- On April 21, Geely Auto Group announced that it will debut China's first purpose-built autonomous robotaxi prototype at the Auto China 2026, which opens on April 24. Unlike many current test vehicles, the prototype has been developed from the ground up rather than adapted from an existing production model. It is built on Geely's Level 4 AI-native digital architecture and integrates a World Action Model (WAM) with L4 autonomous driving capabilities. According to the company, the vehicle represents a significant leap in onboard computing power and sensor performance, while also incorporating physical AI capabilities as part of Geely's broader push into embodied intelligence.Cao Cao Mobility, which will serve as the core platform for Geely's Robotaxi commercialization, has developed an integrated ecosystem spanning purpose-built vehicles, smart driving technology, and intelligent fleet operations. This positions the company among a limited number of global mobility players with end-to-end Robotaxi capabilities.The debut of this ground-up Robotaxi prototype marks a new phase for China's development of dedicated autonomous vehicles.
